Arrows are a cosmetic level object. They are featured in Mega Man Maker as of version 1.8.0.

In the editor, an Arrow is able to be rotated to face in 8 directions (up, down, left, right, and any diagonal combinations of the previous directions) and have it's appearance changed to one of three skins. They are intended to be used to show the player something important or guide them through a level, with them having no functionality with any other objects when playing a level.

Trivia
* The sprites for the default skin are referred to as "Pointy" in Mega Man Maker<nowiki/>'s files.
* The functionality of arrows in the editor is most likely taken from Super Mario Maker, which also has decorative arrows that can be rotated in the same directions as the ones in Mega Man Maker.
* Variants of arrows featuring Beat and Eddie appear in the Navi mode present in the Rockman Complete Works series, while brown and yellow arrows appear in Bounce Man's stage in Mega Man 11. None of these arrow variants are currently implemented in Mega Man Maker.

These can be placed in the editor directly or dropped by defeating enemies. Small Weapon Energy is also a possible reward from the ?-Tank. Except for the weapon energy explicitly placed in stages using the editor, they will despawn by themselves a short while after its appearance on the screen.

Weapon Energy is possible to be grabbed by the Ring Boomerang and Hornet Chaser and Magic Card. If grabbed by either of these weapons and cancelled, the position of the health in the level will be stored until the player dies. Weapon Energy will restore the energy to the currently equipped weapon. If no weapon is selected or the weapon has max energy already, the Energy Balancer will restore the weapon with the least energy.

Wily Machine 4 is one of the fortress bosses from Mega Man 4, originating in the third Wily stage, and is fought after defeating all 8 Robot Masters for a second time. It is introduced to Mega Man Maker in version 1.8.0.

Behavior
Wily Machine 4 has two phases, during both of which it shoots purple energy projectiles while facing in a single direction. It's direction can be set via the editor. Upon starting the fight, Wily Machine 4 will slowly float down towards it's placed location in the editor, with it's health bar filling up after it does so.

During phase 1, Wily Machine 4 will float up and down, firing three projectiles at an angle. After firing the third projectile, it will take a break before firing three more projectiles. It can only be hit from the front in this phase; the rest of it is immune to projectiles. After depleting Wily Machine 4's health bar, the machine will reposition itself to be at it's editor starting location and it's health bar will refill, with the fight entering phase 2.

During phase 2, Wily Machine 4 will instead move left and right while continuously shooting projectiles. Depending on the distance Mega Man is relative to the machine, it will either shoot it's projectiles straight forwards or at an angle towards him. Wily Machine 4 is also less vulnerable during this phase, with it only being able to be harmed at the top-front of it.

After defeating phase 2, Wily Machine 4 will be destroyed, with Dr. Wily escaping it via a pod that rises upwards off the screen.

Trivia
* It is possible to destroy Wily's pod at the end of the fight with Rain Flush, which will destroy both it and Wily as if it were a regular enemy. This is a trait carried over from Mega Man 4, though unlike that game the level victory animation will still play out as normal.

* When collecting Health, Weapon Energy, or Life, the game will briefly pause while the collected energy is replenished. This is also true for weapons not currently equipped that are replenished because of the Energy Balancer.
** However, similarly to Mega Man 1, the game will not pause when collecting a Yashichi—all Health and Weapon Energy will instantly be restored to full.
* E Tanks, M Tanks, and Yashichis are the only items in the game that cannot be grabbed by Hornet Chaser or Ring Boomerang.
* Items that were placed in the editor do not despawn. They also keep track of their location. This means that if you were to use a ring boomerang or Hornet, it's new location will be saved if you leave the room and come back.
* Weapon capsules will not respawn after you touch them. This is true even if you touch a checkpoint afterwards.
** Character Capsules however, respawn after you die at a checkpoint.

1.8.0 was released on November 25th, 2022 and was focused on adding new content from Mega Man & Bass, some content Mega Man 8 that returned in this game, content from the Game Boy instalments, a handful of unique Mega Man Maker unique builder items, as well as Fortress Bosses.
1.8 also brought performance upgrades in loading, creating, saving and playing levels to reduce lag.
From the Mega Man & Bass side, 1.8 added 3 new bosses and 6 weapons as well as an assortment of Enemies , Level Objects, and tiles.
Similarly from the Mega Man Gameboy side there is also 3 new bosses and 6 weapons along with the level objects, enemies, and tiles.

There is one new Cameo Weapon, the weapon Uber Chain is new and based on Team Fortress 2 which was added because Luigi1000 is a huge fan of the game.

According to the devs, it is the last large-scale update the devs are working on. the development team has stated that they do not intend to do any more multi-year long updates in the future. This does not mean that development will cease at 1.8. Rather, 1.9+ will be smaller scope and should have much shorter development times.

About Development
The Development cycle of 1.8.0 was notoriously cursed according JumpDashEvade. During development a lot of problems occurred which slowed down the development of the game.
* At two different times the team experienced server failures and lost progress.
* 3 members of the dev team had deaths in their family.
* The wiki server experienced a critical error and the wiki was completely rebooted and all pages were lost.
* Some dev team members had left the team.
* Various host of real-life accidents including a car accident.
Water is an object in Mega Man Maker that makes the player character jump higher and move slower in midair, and may do the same for other assets. When placed, it creates water tiles until the border of an unused screen or a solid tile. It was introduced as a level object with the Yamato Man blue skin in 1.0.0, but this object was left inaccessible in favor of having the water skins in a dedicated section of the tilesets category.

Water lowers the player's gravity, making a splash sound when the player enters it, as well as the gravity of most other assets touching it. Water, when placed, will cover any unoccupied tiles below it. However, water still goes through some solid assets other than tilesets. Some Level Objects (e.g. Conveyor Belt and Elec Beam), will stop water from covering any tiles below the object, but others like the Key Door let the water pass right through them. Using a jump extension Rush Coil, Proto Coil or Bass' Double Jump can make you reach tremendous heights if the player is submerged in a sufficient amount of water. If dragging something while in the Level Builder, all the water except for the top part will disappear as long as the moved object is still held and it reappears once the dragged item is placed down.

Certain enemies and bosses behave differently inside and outside water, such as Shrink, Gyoraibo, Gabgyo, Bubble Man and Splash Woman.
Trivia
*It is possible to make floating tiles of water by using Ice Blocks and immediately breaking them with something like a Fire Met - the result will be a single tile of water that is not connected to anything.
The Bunby Catcher is an enemy from Mega Man 9 that appears in Galaxy Man's and the third Wily stages. It was introduced in Mega Man Maker in version 1.7.0.

When placed, it will drop down from above the screen if the player is 1 tile or less next to its spawn point horizontally and will drag the player at high speeds if it catches them with its claw. The player cannot walk, slide, dash, or roll while they are being dragged, but can still jump or fire weapons. A Bunby Catcher will let go of the player if they die, or if it has dragged them for a while for a Bunby Catcher not set to drag the player infinitely. The player can also fire weapons to defeat a Bunby Catcher while it is dragging them. Screen nuke weapons such as Gravity Hold can also defeat a Bunby Catcher before it has spawned.

Only one Bunby Catcher can drag the player at a time. A Bunby Catcher that grabs hold of a player that is already being dragged by a Bunby Catcher will overtake the current one and reset the speed of dragging. Additionally, a Bunby Catcher that has finished dragging the player or is defeated by a weapon will respawn when its spawn point is reset by traveling off-screen and back on-screen of the Bunby Catcher. However, one that has already dropped down without grabbing the player will not respawn unless the player transitions to another screen.

It can be set to either drag the player left or right in the Level Builder. It can also be set to either be light-orange or pink.

A Bunby Catcher will drag the player for approximately 3 seconds before letting go. In version 1.7.2, three additional length options for how long a Bunby Catcher can drag the player were added: two longer distance options (7 and 9 seconds) and an option that allows a Bunby Catcher to drag the player infinitely. If the player is stopped by a solid object and does not move horizontally after 8 seconds if the latter option is selected, the Bunby Catcher will let go. A Bunby Catcher also now alerts the player with a quick flash and a chime sound effect a second before letting go.

Trivia
* The first sentence of Bunby Catcher's description is a reference to the "Money Printer Go Brrr" meme often used to mock lengthy criticisms, in this case, possibly to the troll nature of the Bunby Catcher.
* The end cue added in version 1.7.2 for when a Bunby Catcher is about to release the player is unique to Mega Man Maker and does not appear in Mega Man 9.
Glitches
* If the player is caught by a Bunby Catcher while using Treble Boost or Flappy Beat, the Bunby Catcher will glitch out. If using Treble Boost, the Bunby Catcher will slow down to the flight speed of Treble Boost and will allow the payer to move up and down. If the player is using Flappy Beat, the Bunby Catcher will not affect the player anymore.

Backgrounds are a set of graphics that can be placed behind tiles and other game objects in Mega Man Maker. Each screen can only have 1 background and with some backgrounds the colors of certain parts can be changed via the background color setting. Unlike the first 6 Mega Man games they are not made out of smaller tiles, which makes them much easier to place.

Tilesets are a category of placeable objects in Mega Man Maker. They are static, solid objects that are used to create terrain in levels. There are many different tilesets, but very few provide gameplay differences, with most having different designs for aesthetic purposes. As well as these, spikes, ladders, water, plates, and shadows are also considered tilesets, but once again, the different types don't have different functions.
