DLN-000, Protoman (or DRN.000, Blues, depending on localization) is the older brother of Mega Man and Roll, created by Dr. Light as a prototype humanoid robot. Originally fought in Mega Man 3 as a mid-boss, and later in the same game fought as a boss under the alias of "Break Man", his first playable role in numerical games was in Mega Man 9 in a DLC. Proto Man is one of the additional player characters available as of version 1.3.0 alongside Bass. He is typically used defensively due to his limited shot count and a shield that can reflect projectiles.

In Mega Man Maker
As a playable character, Proto Man automatically has the ability to slide and charge his Proto Buster in the Mega Man 4 Charge Shot style. His Charge Shot process of his buster sounds different from the most known charge sound from the NES era games. If Proto Man is doing an uncharged Proto Buster shot, he can only have up to two bullets appearing simultaneously. This also extends to the Proto Strike projectiles. Unlike his appearance in Mega Man 9 and Mega Man 10, Proto Man does not lose the charging process if he receives damage. Proto Man shoots slightly lower than Mega Man or Bass due to his sprite difference, and therefore weapons such as the Proto Buster or Needle Cannon are fired a few pixels lower than when Mega Man or Bass fire.

He comes equipped with the Proto Shield, which will reflect or block most projectile attacks in front of him while jumping; however, shooting while jumping will deactivate this shield until Proto Man lands. The attack reflection of the Proto Shiel makes him able to defend and counter-attack even if he has no ammo for his current weapon or is equipped with only Nothing. If a projectile is reflected, the projectile will take the properties of whatever weapon Proto Man is currently equipped with, allowing Proto Man the potential to break Weapon Blocks without even firing his weapon. The Proto Shield can also protect Proto Man from Elec Beams and Fire Beams to some extent, by getting the current beam deactivated if Proto Man uses his shield in the most distant half of it. The Proto Shield is the closest in functionality to its appearance from Mega Man 10.

In the level setting menu, Proto Man has two settings specific to him - Proto Strike and Double Damage. Enabling Proto Strike will turn any shots made with the Proto Buster into the Proto Strike, which does equal damage to charged shots. Proto Strike made its only appearance in Mega Man Powered Up as the main weapon for Proto Man to use. Enabling Double Damage will cause him to take double the damage from all sources.

In the weapons menu, Rush Coil and Rush Jet are replaced by the Proto Coil and Proto Jet respectively. They are just reskins of the mentioned weapons and they function identically to the original utilities, however, Proto Jet will temporarily remove the Proto Shield. Proto Coil replaces the Power Adaptor, Jet Adaptor and Super Adaptor, although Weapon Blocks changed to these Proto Coil options will only be destroyed with the specific Proto Coil it was set to.

Similar to his original playable appearances in the games, Proto Man's whistle from Mega Man 3 plays whenever he enters a level or respawns upon death. Proto Man's victory pose is taken from Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters.

Trivia
* Proto Man is currently the only character to have an option that makes gameplay harder.
If a plate makes contact with any heat source in the game such as Steam, the breath of a Hot Dog, the flame of a Mash Burner or fire weapons, the plate will become orange and heat up, dealing contact damage to the player character. If several plates are placed on top of one another, they will transfer the heat from the bottom, but in order to achieve this, the heat source needs to stay constant.
The team members were selected after a discussion between Goldstorm and Midas Magnezone.

Before the wiki was brought back online, the Strike Team assisted by gathering web archives and caches of numerous pages, as well as creating and providing countless images to be uploaded. After the Wiki was open, the strike team started to work in the process of rebuilding and restoring individual pages on the Wiki. To facilitate the task, members that were not Wiki moderators prior to the server's damage were given temporary moderation permissions.
DWN-063 Grenade Man is an explosive Robot Master and one of the 8 Robot Masters from Mega Man 8 that is featured in Mega Man Maker as of version 1.5.0.

Using the impressive speed given by his overdrive system and a variety of explosives including his signature weapon, the Flash Bomb, this sadomasochist is a dangerous force that will shake up the battlefield and blow away the opposition.

Grenade Man was build by Dr. Wily to challenge Mega Man. Hiding in some type of explosives factory he was protecting Evil Energy Container during Mega Man 8 events, but failed at protecting it and beating Mega Man.

Behavior
Grenade Man's movements are fast and sudden, doing long jumps, dashing relatively big distance at high speeds, and hanging on walls. When he is not directly throwing any bombs, he will use these techniques to collide with the Player Character or reach a better position to fire at them.

Grenade Man's main technique is firing the Flash Bomb, which will explode if it enters on contact with a target and will reflect any of the player's weapons fired at them excluding Thunder Claw and some Barrier Weapons that can hit them back at him. He may fire the bomb when standing on the floor or when hanging on a wall. When firing from the ground, Grenade Man will shoot directly forward in the direction he is facing, but if fired from the wall he will aim diagonally downward at wherever the player character currently is. After using the Flash Bomb from the ground, he can cause chunks of building debris to fall from the the ceiling and land on the Player. This will only happen if the Flash Bomb makes contact with a wall, and will not happen if the bomb is deflected back at Grenade Man or is set off by colliding with the player character.

The Flash Bomb produces the explosions after touching terrain, the player character, or Grenade Man.

He can fire other projectiles in addition to the Flash Bombs. He will sometimes jump off of walls with a wall kick, and when he does he will fire 3 small grenades down in front of him as he is moving, these small grenades will lightly bounce off the floor before exploding. After receiving enough damage, he will use his "Crazy Destroyer" attack: he will fire out a set of 4 detonating bombs/mines that do not harm upon contact, but will soon after landing cause a series of explosions across the ground which will require the player to precisely jump over them just as they explode if they cannot otherwise get out of their range or deflect the bombs when they are fired. This attack in Mega Man 8 served to change the layout of the arena by destroying the floor and forcing the Player into a lower room, but the attack was changed to damaging floor bombs due to the possible inconveniences of that phase.[1]

Originally, Grenade Man made short hops frequently after the floor bombs exploded, but Mega Man Maker omits this pattern and makes Grenade Man instead sticks to his previous pattern.

Interactions

If a weapon used by the player hits one of Grenade Man's small grenades, then it will destroy that grenade. These small grenades can also be reflected by reflective Barrier Weapons.

A few weapons in the game have the ability to reflect Grenade Man's Flash Bombs right back at him, instead of getting reflected by the bomb; however, they do not possess the ability to destroy the explosions created by Flash Bombs. These include:

*Thunder Claw
*Jewel Satellite
*Mirror Buster
*Shine
The weapon Thunder Claw has the ability to reflect Grenade Man's Flash Bombs because the weapon was his original weakness in Mega Man 8 and possessed the ability to do so in that game.

A few other weapons in the game (the ones that are on the following list) are the polar opposite; they are unable to deflect Flash Bomb itself, but can destroy the explosion created by its detonation upon contact with a solid surface. These are:

*Leaf Shield
*Skull Barrier
*Star Crash
*Plant Barrier

Water Shield gets the best of both worlds: it is able to absorb both the Flash Bomb and its explosion as if they were just regular projectiles. The Super Arm Blocks thrown by Super Arm, and Tornado Blow also have the ability to neutralize both bomb and blast. Proto Man's Proto Shield also has similar abilities: it can both reflect Flash Bombs and despawn the explosions.

The falling building debris spawned by Flash Bomb exploding on a wall can be destroyed/reflected by the following weapons:

*Super Arm (by the Super Arm Block thrown by the weapon)
*Water Wave (only the wave, not the small water bubble)
*Tornado Hold (the tornado it creates, not the propeller)
*Jewel Satellite
*Black Hole Bomb
*Tornado Blow
*Water Shield
*Mirror Buster
*Shine
Proto Man's Proto Shield also has the ability to reflect the falling debris.

The mines created by Grenade Man's Crazy Destroyer attack can be destroyed by the following weapons:

*Super Arm (by the Super Arm Block thrown by the weapon)
*Leaf Shield
*Skull Barrier
*Star Crash
*Water Wave
*Plant Barrier
*Tornado Hold
*Jewel Satellite
*Black Hole Bomb
*Tornado Blow
*Water Shield
*Mirror Buster
*Pile Driver
*Shine

Black Hole Bomb, Super Arm and Tornado Blow can destroy all of Grenade Man's projectiles, including even the explosion created by the Flash Bomb detonating.

If the bomb is reflected to another target, the bomb will be despawned without the explosions.

Strategy
TBA

Trivia
*Grenade Man has a custom entrance animation. Rather than descending from the sky, Grenade Man will enter via a large explosion in the wall. After which he will give a thumbs up.
*In Mega Man 8, one of Grenade Man's battle quotes was "Say hello to my cute bombs!". This is believed to be a reference to the movie Scarface as it is similar to the line "Say hello to my little friend!"
**Although Grenade Man doesn't speak in Mega Man Maker, this referential quote was itself referenced with the flavor text for the Grenade Ladder where it says "Say hello to my cute Ladders!"
*Oddly, Flash Bombs fired downward by Grenade Man do not cause debris to fall when they explode upon hitting the floor. This is accurate to the original game, but strange none the less.

Glitches
*If Grenade Man is fought in a room that lacks walls, he can still jump up to the sides and stick to them to shoot down or wall kick. This is even in rooms that have others to their sides and are still just open space. This may have been left in intentionally to avoid limiting some of his moves, though this has not been confirmed.

DLN-002, Roll. is one of the first Robot Masters created by Dr. Light, created to be a housekeeper, lab assistant, and sister to Mega Man. She is one of the few known female characters in the original Mega Man series, and the only female humanoid robot until Splash Woman was introduced into the series.

Gameplay
Roll is primarily a melee character. Her main weapon is the Roll Swing which allows her to attack with a broom. The broom has a range of 2 and 2/3 tiles horizontally. She can also use other weapons similarly to other characters and has two utility weapons unique to her: the Tango Jump which allows her to call the pet cat Tango and jump on it to get to higher places similarly to Rush Coil and Proto Coil, and Flappy Beat which allows her to call the bird Beat and fly in the air by flapping his wings.

While the concept of her weapon comes from Mega Man Powered Up, Roll's broom attacks are inspired by Zero's gameplay with the melee Z-Saber in the Mega Man X and Mega Man Zero series. Roll can also chain a combo of three broom swings while on land, while she can perform a spin-attack with her broom if she attacks mid-air. If the Charge Broom setting is enabled for a level, the player can hold down the attack button to charge the broom, increasing its range and power.

Instead of sliding when the down and jump button input or slide button is pressed, Roll performs a roll. She can use the roll to go down 1 tile wide gaps. If the Dodge Roll setting is enabled for a level, Roll can also dodge attacks and become temporarily invulnerable to most attacks in this phase, although there is a slight cooldown period the player is required to wait between rolls. When this cooldown period is over, Roll will flash white and a chime sound effect will play.

Trivia
* Roll's sprites are mainly inspired by her appearance in the 2008 Japanese mobile port of the first Rockman game with a few modifications to her design and pose.
* Roll is currently the only character to have a melee weapon as their default weapon.

This page is for the protagonist of the main Mega Man series. For the first video game in the series, see Mega Man 1.

DLN-001, Mega Man (or DRN-001, Rockman, depending on localization) is a Robot Master created by Dr. Light as Rock for the purpose of being a lab assistant. He serves as the main protagonist of the Mega Man series. During the events of Mega Man, Rock volunteered to become a super-fighting robot and was then named Mega Man (or Rockman). Mega Man was the only playable character in Mega Man Maker until the addition of Proto Man and Bass in version 1.3.0 and Roll in version 1.7.0.

In Mega Man Maker
As a playable character, Mega Man has no major gimmick to his design as opposed to the other characters. His Slide and Charge Shot can even be disabled to emulate controls of the earlier games in the series. Mega Man can only shoot three bullets out of his Mega Buster at any given time.

In the level settings menu, Mega Man has two settings specific to him - Charge Shot and Sliding. Enabling Charge Shot will allow Mega Man to charge his Mega Buster before firing. The type of charge shot (from 4, 5, or 6) can also be set. Enabling Sliding will allow Mega Man to slide, which provides additional mobility, as well as the ability to enter horizontal one-tile gaps. He cannot fall into one-wide holes but can slide over them and one-wide spike tiles.

Unlike other characters, he can have access to the Adaptors, special fusions with Rush to gain additional abilities, like flight and powerful punches. Proto Man's replacement of Rush consists of items, so he cannot fuse with them, Bass' only fusion is the Treble Boost, and Roll has no Adaptors for her companions.

Trivia
* Mega Man has separate victory sprites for being midair, hanging on a ladder, being stuck in the sliding position, and using the Power Adaptor or Super Adaptor while performing any of the mentioned actions.
* The Mega Man 5 style charge shot has a larger hitbox than the others, meanwhile, the Mega Man 4 style has a deceptively tall hitbox.
SWN-001, Bass (or Forte, depending on localization) is a Robot Master created by Dr. Wily as a rival robot to Mega Man. Originally fought in Mega Man 7 as a mid-boss, his first playable role was in Mega Man 7s "Versus Mode" mini-game where he had different abilities from the character's modern interpretations and functioned more like a fighting game character, but he would return as a playable character with more traditional platformer controls and abilities in Mega Man & Bass, Mega Man & Bass: Challenger From The Future, and Mega Man 10 as a bonus DLC character. Bass is one of the additional player characters available as of version 1.3.0, trading power and sliding for more speed and developed platforming abilities.

In Mega Man Maker
Bass' gameplay in Mega Man Maker is influenced by that of his playable roles in both Mega Man & Bass and Mega Man 10. As a playable character, Bass has the ability to shoot his rapid-fire Bass Buster that can shoot four shots at a time in seven directions (being unable to shoot directly downward) but is unable to charge it. Also, the Bass Buster is the only base shot type to not pass through the terrain. Instead of a slide, Bass has a Dash ability resembling that of the Mega Man X series. The speed gained from dashing is kept upon jumping, but this will not be maintained upon a double jump. In addition, this dash cannot enter one-tile gaps that the other characters could enter via sliding.

In the level settings menu, Bass has one setting specific to him - the Double Jump, a skill he had in Mega Man & Bass. Enabling Double Jump will allow Bass to jump once while in midair, either after a jump initiated by the player or after falling off of a tile.

In the weapons menu, Rush Coil, Rush Jet, Jet Adaptor, Power Adaptor, and Super Adaptor are replaced by Treble Boost. The Treble Boost acts as a form of Jet-Pack that also replaces Bass's regular fire with a three-way spread shot, replacing those utilities. For Weapon Blocks, a specific Treble Boost must be used to destroy it since the block has the ID of the original weapon.

Trivia
*Bass is the only character not to always give a positive pose upon winning a level.
*He will give a thumbs down if he is holding onto a ladder, or facepalm if stuck in a sliding position (only available through Charge Kick usage or swapping characters while Mega Man or Proto Man slides).
*Bass' unique abilities from his playable role in Mega Man 7s "Versus Mode", such as the variant of Bass Buster that fires blue lasers and has a Charge Shot, are not present in Mega Man Maker.
New Features
* You can now ban players from your Server Lobby room. This can be done in the player list, but only if you're hosting the room.
* A frozen Fire Wall now flashes shortly before unfreezing.
* Gave Big Fish his original sprite as an alternate skin.
Changes
* Updated the internal workings of the Server Lobby system. OLDER VERSIONS MAY NOT BE COMPATIBLE WITH THE SERVER LOBBY ANYMORE - make sure to update!
* Before kicking or banning a player from your Server Lobby room, the game will now ask for a confirmation.
* When joining a Server Lobby or Direct IP room, you will now receive the same welcome and 'Press T to chat' messages as when you host one.
Fixed Bugs
* Kaona Geeno will magically pull a second head out of thin air to throw at you when you destroy the first head.
* Wheel Cutter does not destroy weapon blocks or dust blocks when climbing walls with walls on both sides.
* When moving a Moving Elevator horizontally, scrolling it off-screen, then coming back to it, the respawned elevator will keep its previous horizontal momentum once activated.
* If Fire Wall kills a boss before it finishes its intro animation, Mega Man becomes invulnerable to most hazards.
* If you are in a room with Quick Laser spawners and teleport to another room on the same vertical height, it is possible for the Quick Lasers to spawn in the new room and eventually lag the game.
* Ballade Cracker reflects off shielded enemies instead of exploding.
* Blast Man keeps running into edges of sections if there are no walls there and his AI is stuck.
* Bounce Man doing ground pounds near walls will have him clip if there is a ceiling above him.
* Water Shield pops more than one bubble on weapon blocks/barriers and can lock up the spread of the shield.
* Chill BG 1 has a few missing pixels in the bottom right corner.
* Sometimes, when entering an invalid room ID on the Server Lobby room list, the game will prompt you for a passcode.

Mega Man & Bass (released as Rockman & Forte [ロックマン&フォルテ Rokkuman ando Forute] in Japan) is a Mega Man series platform game released for the Super Famicom on April 24th, 1998, and Game Boy Advance on August 10th, 2002. The game has two playable characters: Mega Man, who can slide and charge the Mega Buster, and Bass, who can shoot in seven directions, dash, and double jump. It takes many assets from Mega Man 8, although it differs in some concepts from the game.

In Mega Man Maker
As of version 1.7.5, there are no folders for its features, but two elements are taken from Mega Man & Bass. Version 1.3.0 brought Bass with the gameplay's foundations from this game and his fusion with Treble, Treble Boost, while 1.5.0 brought the reflective variant of the Yoku Block. Version 1.8.0 will focus on adding much more content from the game.

Weapons
*Treble Boost
*Magic Card
*Spread Drill

Enemies
*Gori-Three
*Dodonpa Cannon

Level Objects
*Reflecting Yoku Block

Other
*Bass' gameplay and Bass' exclusive utility are largely based on his appearance on Mega Man & Bass.
*Bass has the ability to shoot in multiple directions, has a dash, an optional Double Jump ability, and the Treble Boost as a utility.
*The Treble Boost's main functioning comes from this game.
*Burner Man and the lances of his stage are alluded to in Needle Man's alternate backgrounds. Burner Man is also referenced in Mash Burner's flavor text.
*Dodonpa Cannon has 5 HP points and 5 angles like in Mega Man & Bass.
The Bunby Catcher is an enemy from Mega Man 9 that appears in Galaxy Man's and the third Wily stages. It was introduced in Mega Man Maker in version 1.7.0.

When placed, it will drop down from above the screen if the player is 1 tile or less next to its spawn point horizontally and will drag the player at high speeds if it catches them with its claw. The player cannot walk, slide, dash, or roll while they are being dragged, but can still jump or fire weapons. A Bunby Catcher will let go of the player if they die, or if it has dragged them for a while for a Bunby Catcher not set to drag the player infinitely. The player can also fire weapons to defeat a Bunby Catcher while it is dragging them. Screen nuke weapons such as Gravity Hold can also defeat a Bunby Catcher before it has spawned.

Only one Bunby Catcher can drag the player at a time. A Bunby Catcher that grabs hold of a player that is already being dragged by a Bunby Catcher will overtake the current one and reset the speed of dragging. Additionally, a Bunby Catcher that has finished dragging the player or is defeated by a weapon will respawn when its spawn point is reset by traveling off-screen and back on-screen of the Bunby Catcher. However, one that has already dropped down without grabbing the player will not respawn unless the player transitions to another screen.

It can be set to either drag the player left or right in the Level Builder. It can also be set to either be light-orange or pink.

A Bunby Catcher will drag the player for approximately 3 seconds before letting go. In version 1.7.2, three additional length options for how long a Bunby Catcher can drag the player were added: two longer distance options (7 and 9 seconds) and an option that allows a Bunby Catcher to drag the player infinitely. If the player is stopped by a solid object and does not move horizontally after 8 seconds if the latter option is selected, the Bunby Catcher will let go. A Bunby Catcher also now alerts the player with a quick flash and a chime sound effect a second before letting go.

Trivia
* The first sentence of Bunby Catcher's description is a reference to the "Money Printer Go Brrr" meme often used to mock lengthy criticisms, in this case, possibly to the troll nature of the Bunby Catcher.
* The end cue added in version 1.7.2 for when a Bunby Catcher is about to release the player is unique to Mega Man Maker and does not appear in Mega Man 9.
Glitches
* If the player is caught by a Bunby Catcher while using Treble Boost or Flappy Beat, the Bunby Catcher will glitch out. If using Treble Boost, the Bunby Catcher will slow down to the flight speed of Treble Boost and will allow the payer to move up and down. If the player is using Flappy Beat, the Bunby Catcher will not affect the player anymore.
The Dodonpa Cannon is an enemy from Mega Man 8 and Mega Man & Bass that appears in both of Tengu Man's stages, Clown Man's stage, Grenade Man's stage, Cold Man's stage, Burner Man's stage, and several Wily Stages. It will be introduced in version 1.8.0.

Dodonpa Cannon is a basic cannon enemy that fires projectiles at Mega Man. It has two color variants.

Trivia
* The original version of the Dodonpa Cannon had smoke around the projectile it fires. It appears that this detail will not be implemented in Mega Man Maker.
* A variant of the Dodonpa Cannon called the Aloha Dodonpa appears in the intro stage of Mega Man 8, hiding beneath an artificial palm tree. It is yet to be revealed if it will be implemented in version 1.8.0 as well.
It will be introduced in 1.8.0

Gori-Three is a gorilla-like robot that throw an object at Megaman.

There are four types of Gori-Three - Goriblue that throws bouncy balls and is recognizable by its blue and yellow colors, Gorigree that throws spiked balls in straight line and have green and purple coloring, and Gorigro that is black and yellow and throws bombs or rocks that can be used as platform (So far it is unknown if boulder mechanic will appear in Mega Man Maker), and Gori-three with blue and Pink colored body that throws bouncy ball in the same color.

Trivia
* The blue and pink colored variant of Gori-Three is exclusive to Mega Man Maker. It shares the same colors as Mega Man when using Mega Ball and Bounce Man.
<!--* There is a fifth variant of Gori-Three - a Giant Gori-Three that appeared only in a cutscene of Mega Man 8.-->
.MMLV File Format
.MMLV is the file format used to store data about a Mega Man Maker level.

These files can be edited with certain text editing programs, such as Notepad and some others. Editing the text in these files can change various aspects of the level, including removing limitations on what text characters can and cannot be used in a level's name, how long level names can be, and even how various assets in the level function.

Playing a text edited level files may in some instances cause crashing, glitches, or other oddities to occur that otherwise would not. This could be caused by the player text editing certain values assigned to assets in ways they are not normally intended to be used.

To access .MMLV files saved in-game, they are located in %localappdata%/MegaMaker/Levels on a computer with a Windows operating system. The files may be in another location for computers running Windows through software such as Wine on other operating systems.

Trivia
* Luigi has stated that menus have a bit of empty space around them so users can click out of them.
* When a level has been named and saved at least once, the Level Builder will periodically attempt to autosave the level in case something goes wrong, such as crashes, softlocks, or the game being suddenly closing. This may cause the game to lag while editing large levels.

Gravity Hold is Gravity Man's signature weapon from Mega Man 5. It is featured in Mega Man Maker since its 1.0.0 version.

When used, the player character will set off a flash that damages all destructible enemies that are onscreen. Any enemies destroyed by the use of Gravity Hold will be flipped upside down and flung upward off screen rather than just exploding like normal. Even projectiles can be sent off by this weapon. Due to its unique way of defeating enemies, those defeated with this weapon will not leave any pickups. Bosses, however, will be damaged as with another weapon depending of their weakness settings.

When used against bosses not immune to the Gravity Hold, they will be damaged even when using any shield or being in an otherwise invulnerable status. This does not includes Astro Man's quick teleport to use the Astro Crush. Boss projectiles are not affected by the weapon.

In Mega Man Maker, the weapon has been significantly buffed in damage since in the original the weapon dealt only 1 damage.

Trivia
* Despite Mega Man's sprite showing him as a shade of purple when Gravity Hold is equipped, his official art shows him in red instead.
* The Gravity Hold does not affect Bokazurahs, although their projectiles can be sent upwards with this weapon. However, Rolling Drills can be sent away with this weapon.
Glitches
* Gravity Hold has an exploit involving weapon containers. If the user activates Gravity Hold and then immediately switches to another weapon, any weapon containers on screen set to that other weapon will be destroyed instead of those that are set to Gravity Hold.
