|All Chemical Solution acidity levels (from left to right, top to bottom): stage 1 (blue), stage 4 (green), and stage 2 (brown), stage 3 (red)|
Akin to the behavior of water, Chemical Solution lowers the player's gravity as well as the gravity of most other enemies and bosses submerged in it, making a splash sound when the player enters or leaves a Chemical Solution. Water assets decrease the acidity level of Chemical Solution while acidic assets increase the acidity level. There are four "Acidity Levels"—the first three levels act exactly like water while "Acidity Level 4" (indicated by green liquid with bubbles) hurt the player character if they are submerged in it or upon contact.
Chemical Solution covers any unoccupied tiles below it. However, it still goes through some solid assets that are not Tilesets. Some Level Objects stop the Chemical Solution from covering any tiles below it, but others like the Key Door let the solution pass right through them. A Chemical Solution tile placed above a water tile replaces the water tile completely and vice versa. Using a jumping tool can make the player reach tremendous heights if they are submerged in a sufficient amount of the solution.
The table below lists each of the four acidity levels and their respective properties.
The table below lists all assets as of 1.6.3 that increase concentration and the acidity level of Chemical Solution by one stage.
|Rain Flush||Weapons||Acid Rain from Rain Flush|
|Numetall||Enemies||Numetall's goo blobs attack|
|Pipetto||Enemies||Pipetto's acid blob attack|
|Toad Man||Bosses||Acid Rain from Toad Man's Rain Flush attack|
The table below lists all assets as of 1.6.3 that dilute and decrease the acidity level of Chemical Solution by one stage.
|Water Wave||Weapons||Both inside and outside water|
|Water Shield||Weapons||Four bubbles from the Water Shield|
|Shell'n||Enemies||Bubble attack (both in and outside water)|
|Bubble Man||Bosses||Bubble Man's Bubble Lead attack|
|Pump Man||Bosses||Four bubbles from Pump Man's Water Shield attack|
- Although Crunchran's Level Builder description states the enemy is made of acid, it does not affect the acidity levels of Chemical Solution. It is unknown if this is intentional or an oversight.
