Count Bombs are explosive temporary platform level objects from multiple games in the Mega Man series that are featured in Mega Man Maker. If the player character steps on or collides with the tirgger button on a Count Bomb, it will activates them and cause the number displayed on them starts counting down. The timers can be set to last 1 to 9 seconds. When the number reaches 0 they will go blank and flicker before they then explode, causing 4 damage to the player if they are next to the bomb. They can be placed vertically or horizontally in either direction. If the player shoots at a Count Bomb the shot will be deflected similar to shielded enemies or empty Weapon Barriers/Weapon Blocks. Unlike them however, they will despawn if off screen and respawn if brought back on, allowing for them to be reset without returning to a checkpoint in a well made level.

An example of all of the time bombs.
  • A heavily modified version of the Count Bomb from Mega Man 7 called the Jet Platform is also featured in Mega Man Maker as of the version 1.4.0 update.
  • Through text editing, it is possible to set a Count Bomb to 0 so that it explodes even quicker than normal when activated. It's sprite can however look glitchy as a result.
  • Due to how Count Bombs are designed, if horizontal bombs are put in between a screen transition and the player character runs into them from the trigger side, they will vanish and then reappear as the player character crosses into the next screen, allowing for an alternative one-way door instead of a Boss Door.
  • Though Count Bomb didn't officially appear in the main classic series until Mega Man 6, a version of them was present in the Game Boy Version of Mega Man 3 (Rockman World 3) where they acted the same as they would in the main series games, but looked slightly different with a more spherical shape and a small fuse on the bottom of them. They would also naturally respawn a while after exploding.

  • If the player jumps on the first frame of landing on a Count Bomb's activation trigger, the timer will not activate. It is currently unknown if this is a glitch or intentional.
