"Kaizo" is a Japanese word that means "reorganize", "restructure", or "reconstruct," and is usually used to refer to video games that are hacked or modified in some form. Outside of Japan, kaizo came to be adopted as a term to describe video game levels that are fan-created and very high in difficulty, possibly requiring strong knowledge of the inner workings of a game and its game engine in order to play effectively.

It has been requested that this article be rewritten. Reason: Lots of grammar fixes required and repositioning of sections to be more in line with other articles. It also needs an expert from Mega Man Maker's Kaizo community to add information and clean up this page

Kazio levels are not to be confused with troll levels. Although both level types are usually known for their very high difficulty, Troll Levels are usually designed to intentionally deceive the player, where as Kaizo levels usually are not.

Kaizo Levels are a type of level found rather frequently in Mega Man Maker, and have their own dedicated communities who make and play these difficult types of levels.

What Does Kaizo Consist of?

Kaizo levels usually greatly punishes inefficient or sloppy play, usually by making the player lose a life and having to redo multiple difficult sections over again.

Some feats to playing a Kaizo level effectively may include some of the following:

  • Pixel-perfect and/or pixel-strict movements.
  • Frame-perfect and/or frame-strict button inputs.
  • In-depth knowledge of many features of the game and its engine, including things that are possibly obscure.
  • Knowledge and use of glitches and/or exploits.
