Flame Sword is Sword Man's signature weapon, originating from Mega Man 8. It is featured in Mega Man Maker as of version 1.5.0.

{| class="wikitable plainrowheaders sortable"
It allows the user to swing a sword made of flame that covers the 2x2 area in front of them, rooting the user in place as it does. It also hits some tiles above and below the user, and a single strike can hit up to three times. If swung while airborne, its range increases to cover the 3x4 area around the user. Flame Sword can even be swung while climbing ladders, covering a slightly smaller area instead, but the user cannot jump off until the animation ends. Since it's a fire-based weapon, it can ignite Oil, TNT Blocks, and Hot Plates, as well as melt Ice Barriers. Flame Sword can be used thirty-two times with a full energy gauge. Due to the nature of the weapon, it cannot be deflected even if it wouldn't deal damage.

A noteworthy exploit exists when the Flame Sword is swung in midair as Bass; it will deal up to six hits through its animation instead of the usual three. Furthermore, if the player double jumps before the animation ends, another slash will be done without consuming weapon energy.

*Despite the description, Flame Sword is regarded by many players to be very weak unless used by Bass. This is likely due to the differences in programming between Mega Man 8 and Mega Man Maker, as in the former game it dealt damage per frames of contact with the enemy.
*Flame Sword could also nullify projectiles it made contact with in Mega Man 8, but this feature is absent in Mega Man Maker.
*When used by Proto Man, a glare effect appears across his helmet's visor.

Flame Sword is Sword Man's signature weapon, originating from Mega Man 8. It is featured in Mega Man Maker as of version 1.5.0.

Trivia

 • Despite the description, Flame Sword is regarded by many players to be very weak unless used by Bass. This is likely due to the differences in programming between Mega Man 8 and Mega Man Maker, as in the former game it dealt damage per frames of contact with the enemy.
 • Flame Sword could also nullify projectiles it made contact with in Mega Man 8, but this feature is absent in Mega Man Maker.
 • When used by Proto Man, a glare effect appears across his helmet's visor.
