Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge (released in Japan as "Rockman World") is the first Mega Man game for the Game Boy.
[[Category:Version history]]

In order to stop Dr. Wily's quest for world domination, Mega Man faces against the Robot Master bosses reused from the Nintendo Entertainment System/Famicom games. The player travels through the stages of four Robot Masters from Mega Man: Cut Man, Ice Man, Fire Man, and Elec Man, defeats the Robot Masters, and obtains their weapon.

Once all four Robot Masters are defeated, Mega Man encounters four more Robot Masters, this time from Mega Man 2: Bubble Man, Quick Man, Flash Man, and Heat Man. Once defeated, Mega Man finally faces off against the Mega Man Killer known as Enker, who was introduced in this game.

Many assets such as the sprites, music, and Robot Masters were reused and/or remixed for the game from Mega Man and Mega Man 2.

Due to the game reaching over 1 million sales in its initial printing, the game was later reprinted under the "Player's Choice" label.
