Leaf Shield is Wood Man's signature weapon, originating from Mega Man 2 and reappearing in Mega Man II and Mega Man: The Wily Wars. It is featured in Mega Man Maker as of version 1.2.0.

When activated, it surrounds the user with a shield made of sharp leaves that can nullify enemy projectiles. The shield can hit multiple times, and by pressing left/right/up/down, it can be thrown in those directions, passing through all enemies, terrain, and reflective objects as it does. Only armored enemies can deflect the Leaf Shield. Additionally, the weapon only consumes energy when thrown. Sliding, dashing, or rolling does not launch the shield, and it won't fly off if it's activated while moving either. Moles, Hot Dog, and every member of the Spine family will be defeated instantly on contact with this weapon.

Trivia

  • Since Leaf Shield doesn't consume energy upon activation, switching weapons can allow it to be used for free.
  • In Mega Man 2, Leaf Shield will slowly fall down off the screen if deflected. This was changed in Mega Man Maker to instead fly off toward the top corner of the screen.
  • It originally could not nullify projectiles in its debut game.
