Flying Shell (or "Mambu", depending on localization) is an enemy from Mega Man introduced in version 1.1.0 of Mega Man Maker. It is a reconnaissance robot that flies in a set direction and can only be harmed with most weapons when its eyes are exposed. When it opens its shell, it stops moving for a while and fires projectiles going straight in all eight directions. It ignores terrain collisions in its trajectory and so do its projectiles. The Flying Shell attacks every four tiles he crosses after starting to move.

If they appear because of a Spawner, one Flying Shell at a time will appear until it leaves the screen or is defeated. Therefore, Flying Shell Spawners only spawn enemies if there is no current Flying Shell coming from the same spawner in the screen. This makes the spawner susceptible of being tricked by freezing its latest Flying Shell with weapons like Ice Slasher. Flying Shells coming from the spawner always have the same height of the spawner and come from the border of the screen regardless of the tile they were placed it as long as the player is in its presence.

In the Level Builder, both the sole Flying Shell and its spawner occupy one tile.
