Challenge event/Break the Targets

Break the Targets was the ninth challenge event held for Mega Man Maker. It was hosted by Sasha and held from March 24, 2025 to May 25, 2025. The focus of the contest was to build short levels with an emphasis on destroying Targets.
The contest was first announced on March 24, 2025. Level submissions were open from April 7, 2025 to April 21, 2025. The contest results were announced on May 25, 2025.
The contest also required creators to use one of three 8-bit remixes made specially for the contest of Break the Target music themes from the Super Smash Bros. series:
- "Break the Targets" from Super Smash Bros. remixed by Dāku
- "Break the Targets!" from Super Smash Bros. Melee remixed by MinobiVW
- "Target Smash!!" from Super Smash Bros. Brawl remixed by DeltaMudkip
Rules
- The level MUST end by destroying a target. (Can be a normal target, or level wide)
- All targets MUST be required to progress through the stage. Optional targets will result in a disqualification.
- Using ANY bosses in your stage will result in a disqualification.
- Your level MUST use any of the following songs, Mega Man 10: Challenges, Mega Man 11: Challenges, and/or Mega Man 11: Dr. Light’s Trial. Using any other song will lead to a disqualification.
- No troll or kaizo stages.
- Text-editing and/or the MMLV editor is not allowed.
- Levels must be 25 or less screens of length.
- Your level’s name must start with “MMMLC - ”
- - Ex. “Voidstrike Facility” -> “MMMLC - Voidstrike Facility”
Notable info
- Your level’s primary weapon does not need to be the character’s default weapon (Mega Buster, Roll Swing, etc.)
- Usage of commonly known community glitches such as one way teleporters, and minimap auto tiler manipulation is allowed.
- Non-playable screens will be counted for the screen limit moving forward. Make sure to double check your screen count before submitting. If a stage is submitted with any screens above 25, you will be notified before submissions close.
