Targets are level objects originating from Mega Man 10. They are featured in Mega Man Maker as of version 1.8.0.
Behavior
Targets can appear in six different colors: red, green, blue, orange, purple, and yellow-pink. If a Target is hit by the player's weapon, it will be destroyed. If the player destroys a Target then touches a checkpoint, that Target will not reappear when respawning.
Once the last Target of a particular color on a connected screen is destroyed, one of two things can happen depending on the settings for that Target's color:
- The player will be awarded an item that will travel to the player's position. This can be one of the following:
- Health (either small or large)
- Weapon energy (either small or large)
- Life
- Yashichi
- Key corresponding to the color of the target(s) destroyed
- The level will end (similar to shooting a Party Ball).
Variants
- Target Rails are colored rails on which Targets can move back and forth at one of four speed settings.
- The color of the rail will match the color of the Target at that position in the Level Builder.
- On/Off Targets can only be destroyed when the color corresponding to the On/Off Switch is active: on for blue, off for red.
- When active, the Target's center flashes white and blue/red rapidly. When inactive, the Target darkens and stops flashing.
- Additionally, the blue On/Off Target can only drop a blue Key while the red On/Off Target can only drop a red Key.
- A Level Target is a gray target which will only drop a pickup or end the level when all Level Targets in a level are destroyed.
- The will change depending on the option set in the Level Builder for the last Level Target destroyed.
- It can also drop a Key of any color.
Trivia
- The Target level object was planned to be included in 1.7.0, but due to time constraints, it was implemented in 1.8.0.
