Force Beams are large lasers that debuted in Quick Man's stage in Mega Man 2. They travel across the screen until hitting a solid object and damage the player in different ways if they come into contact with them. Force Beams have been in Mega Man Maker since version 1.0.0.

The only way to despawn and reset an activated Force Beam is going to a disconnected screen. It is possible for the player character to pass through all types of Force Beams unharmed if they are under the effects of invincibility frames, either from taking damage or using Charge Kick and Pile Driver. The distinction of different colors and functionalities are original to Mega Man Maker as the Force Beams in Quick Man's stage in Mega Man 2 are all yellow and immediately kill the player but could also be passed through during invincibility frames.

Force Beams come in three varieties: green, yellow, and red.

Icon Type Properties
GreenForceBeam.png Green Force Beam
  • Deals constant damage over time to the player as long as the player keeps touching it (4 damage per second)
  • Does not cause knockback and invincibilty frames to the player when they take damage from it
YellowForceBeam.png Yellow Force Beam
  • Deals 7 damage to the player on contact.
  • Causes knockback and invincibilty frames to the player when they take damage from it
RedForceBeam.png Red Force Beam
  • Kills the player on contact.

The direction of Force Beams can be set to travel left, right, up, or down, and the activation time can be adjusted from 1 to 9 in the Level Builder. Prior to version 1.4.0, Force Beams could only be set to travel left or right.

  • Prior to version 1.5.0, the description for Yellow Force Beam stated that they dealt 8 damage instead of 7.
  • In the changelogs for various Mega Man Maker versions, Force Beams are commonly referred to as Quick Lasers.
