Mega Man 2 (released as "Rockman 2: The Mystery of Dr. Wily" in Japan) is the second game in the classic Mega Man series, released on December 24, 1988. It was the second Mega Man game released for the NES in Japan and the United States. It is first game that established classic Mega Man formula like having eight robot masters and the E-Tank, and is the best-selling Mega Man game so far.
In Mega Man Maker
Version 1.2.0 focused on adding content from this game and from Mega Man 3. As of Version 1.7.5, there are 5 bosses, 29 enemies, 7 level objects, 28 tilesets, 31 backgrounds, 11 weapons, 4 spikes, 6 ladders and 12 music tracks available from Mega Man 2 in Mega Man Maker.

Trivia
- This is so far the only represented Mega Man game with 8-bit graphics where a background has a version with custom-made sprites instead of the original sprites. The background was Bubble BG and it was done to mitigate the potential seizure from the original version of the background.
