Conveyor Belt is a recurring Level Object in the Mega Man series, originating from Metal Man's stage from Mega Man 2. It consists of a structure with a belt that moves constantly in a set direction and pushes most entities over it.

Behavior

A Conveyor Belt will move the player, and most grounded enemies, bosses, and projectiles, effected by gravity (excluding Metal Man), gradually in the direction it is assigned.

A Conveyor Belt can be assigned to move in one of two directions, left or right. All Conveyor Belt objects in the same track as a Conveyor Belt object which direction was modified, will also be modified to function in the same direction. Whether it moves to the left or to the right can be set by selecting one of the parts in a line and changing its direction on the Level Builder.

Searchy can change its movement if it detects the player character. From 1.6.0 onwards, Metal Man has an optional ability to change the direction of Conveyor Belts as he did in the source material.

The initial version only came with Metal Man's skin, but from 1.6.0 onwards, the Conveyor Belt comes with other skins from diverse Mega Man games. The old version was made inaccessible for backwards compatibility and for the new functionality, a new item was created.

Trivia

  • As a Giree and a Conveyor Belt move at the same speed, if a Giree is on top of a Conveyor Belt and they are moving in the opposite directions, the Giree will appear as if it is not moving.
  • Like in Mega Man 2, when Metal Man is on a Conveyor Belt, he will run nonstop to ensure he negates the movement of the Conveyor Belt.
