|Artwork of a Screw Bomber from Mega Man 1|
Screw Bomber (also known as "Screw Driver" or "Screwdriver" in other sources) were originally fire-extinguishing sprinkler robots, but Dr. Wily had modified them to fire dangerous energy projectiles instead of water. They are enemies that originate from Mega Man 1 from various stages. It was introduced in version 1.0.0 of Mega Man Maker
If the player is more than 7 blocks away from the enemy, in any direction, the enemy remain in its "Passive State". While in this state, it will lay low and will not move.
If the player is 7 blocks away from the enemy or closer, in any direction, the enemy will enter its "Aggressive State". While in this state, it will periodically extend itself, fire two volleys of five simultaneous shots in five different directions, and then retract itself, before repeating.
The enemy can be placed facing either upwards facing or downwards facing in Mega Man Maker's Level Builder, which affects which directions the enemies shots are fired. If the enemy is upwards facing, the five different directions the shots travels are horizontally left, diagonally up left 45 degrees, vertically upwards, diagonal up left 45 degrees, and horizontally right. If the enemy is downwards facing, the five different directions the shots travels are horizontally left, diagonally down left 45 degrees, vertically downwards, diagonal down left 45 degrees, and horizontally right.
If the player gets 7 blocks away from the enemy or farther while the enemy is in its "Aggressive State", it will return to its "Passive State" when it finishes its most recent two volleys of five shots.
- Screw Bombers also appear in Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge / Rockman World 1, Mega Man: The Wily Wars, and Mega Man Powered Up.
