|An Energy Element in-Game|
Energy Elements are sparkling mechanical disk-like components from Mega Man 1 that are featured in Mega Man Maker that end a level upon contact with the Player Character as an alternative to defeating a Boss. Once contact is made the level end sequence will begin, this will however cause certain level objects to become disabled and player input to stop working, possibly resulting in the player dying if over a pitfall and not counting the win.
There is no limit to how many energy elements could be placed in a stage, allowing for them to be utilized in stages as everything from alternate endings, decorations, and even obstacles. This is true for all versions of Mega Man Maker, including earlier versions where Bosses were limited to only 1 per stage.
- In Mega Man 1, rather than being physically located in a stage the Energy Elements would be dropped from Robot Masters when defeated in their stages. Touching them ends the stage, similarly to how they work in Mega Man Maker.
- The use of an Energy Element to end a stage without beating a boss is likely based on how they are used in the Make A Good Mega Man Level contests.
- Similar to several of the Pickups in the game such as the E-Tank, M-Tank, and Extra Life, The coloration of the Energy Elements in a stage will change to match the color pallet of the Player Character's equipped weapon.
- The sparkles emitted by Energy Elements can still be seen even if the element is not on screen or in the room the Player Character is in but is right up against the boarders of a screen.
