Category: Enemies
Game of origin: Mega Man 6
HP: 1
Damage: 4 (contact); 3 (fragments)

SRU-21/P where originally guard robots for water areas, but Dr. Wily had modified them to explode. They are enemies that originate from Mega Man 6 from Centaur Man's stage. It was introduced in version 1.4.0 of Mega Man Maker.

If the player is more than 4 tiles away from the enemy horizontally, regardless of the player's height on the y-axis, the enemy remain in its "Passive State". While in this state, it will not move.

If the player is 4 tiles away from the enemy horizontally, regardless of the player's height on the y-axis, the enemy will enter its "Aggressive State". While in this state, the enemy will drop downwards. Depending on what the enemy does or doesn't collide with when it drops downwards, different behaviours can occur.

If the enemy drops into a pit, it will instantly despawn once it travels downwards off-screen.

If the enemy collides with something resembling solid ground, it will detonate instantly upon contact, launching three pieces of debris in three different directions, diagonally up left 45 degress, vertically upwards, and diagonally up right 45 degrees.

If the enemy collides with the surface of water, it will travel downwards slightly in the water, before flipping upwards and floating back up to the surface of the water. While floating in the water, It will eventually start flashing and explode, launching three pieces of debris in three different directions, diagonally up left 45 degress, vertically upwards, and diagonally up right 45 degrees.

If a SRU-21/P is placed along a horizontal screen separation line above the player, the SRU-21/P will be seemingly invisible until its "Aggressive State" is triggered, where it will appear as if it is dropping downwards from off-screen above the player.

SRU-21/P is not affected by gravity, being crushed by Push Blocks, or being moved by Level Objects.

SRU-21/P's debris can be deflected by Shine and Proto Man's shield.

Trivia

  • Originally in Mega Man 6, SRU-21/P are only seen falling downwards and colliding with the water's surface tiles or falling downwards off-screen, and is never seen falling downward and colliding with solid ground. This new behaviour is exclusive to Mega Man Maker.
  • In Mega Man Maker, SRU-21/P will only float in water if it collides with the water's surface tiles when it drops downwards. If it is already inside water when it drops downwards, it will not float to the water's surface. It is currently unknown if this is a glitch or intentional behaviour.

Glitches

  • None.
