Crunchran is an enemy trap robot first appearing alongside Astro Man in his stage in Mega Man 8 and reappearing again with Astro Man's return in Mega Man & Bass. Crunchran was added to Mega Man Maker in version 1.5.0.

Crunchran moves about stealthily on floor tiles hiding in what appears to be small puddles of slime, it's single eye scanning about for enemy movement. Once a player is detected it's puddle will quickly attempt to locate itself directly underneath the player, it's puddle form does no damage but once underneath the player the Crunchran will appear out of the puddle snapping it's jaws in an attempt to damage the player.

Crunchran shares many similarities with the Mega Man 3 Wanaan Level Object.

Strategy

Whilst difficult to hit with many weapons due to it's low profile Crunchran is highly vulnerable to surface crawling weapons (Bubble Lead, Napalm Bomb) , screen clearing weapons (Rain Flush, Centaur Flash) and weapons that can strike at the feet of the player (Silver Tomahawk, Flame Blast).
