Proto Man using Ice Wave as seen in the Mega Man Maker seventh anniversary trailer | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
Ice Wave is Frost Man's signature weapon originating from Mega Man 8. It is featured in Mega Man Maker as of version 1.9.0. When fired the Player drops a small icicle, which upon hitting a surface, creates a damaging wave of of icicles that can travel along the ground and walls. Enemies in a shielded state are resistant to damage from Ice Wave, though Ice Wave can still pass through them and continue on its travel path.
Being an Ice based weapon Ice Wave can freeze fire based Level Objects like Lava, Flame Pillars and Fire Walls. Ice Wave can also freeze Fans for around three seconds, temporarily stopping Fans from pushing the player upwards/downwards.
Interactions
- Ice Wave was Tengu Man's native weakness in Mega Man 8 and his special interaction with Ice Wave is recreated in Mega Man Maker. So long as Tengu Man has not been given immunity in the created level to Ice Wave, if hit close to a surface with it he will be frozen in place for a few seconds.
Fixed bugs
- Prior to version 1.9.2:
- Ice Wave would make a Mash Burner explode when destroyed.
- Freeze Man would not perform his taunt or heal when hit by Ice Wave like with other ice weapons.
- Prior to version 1.9.3:
- The volume for the Ice Wave sound effect was lowered in version 1.9.4.
- Prior to version 1.9.4, Ice Wave trails would stop at shielded enemies.
- Prior to version 1.9.4.1, Ice Wave would go through shielded or enemies that reflect projectiles while damaging them.
- Prior to version 1.9.4.2, Cold Man did not heal when hit by Ice Wave when it was not set as a primary or secondary weakness like with other ice weapons.
