Thunder Claw is a long, retractile electrical chain that can work as an attack and as an utility. It will extend to a somewhat long distance before going back to the player, unless it hits an enemy in a shielded state or an immune target, where the attack will be cut off abruptly. However, the majority of objects that normally bounce off or reject attacks from the player do not interrupt Thunder Claw's trajectory.
When fighting Grenade Man, the Thunder Claw is one of the few weapons that are not rejected by Grenade Man's Flash Bombs. It will push the Flash Bombs back at Grenade Man.
Thunder Claw Pole
|Thunder Claw Pole|
The Thunder Claw Pole was a recurring level object in Mega Man 8. It was added in Mega Man Maker in 1.5.0 alongside the Thunder Claw.
If the Thunder Claw is used on a Thunder Claw Pole, the player will hang on the pole through this weapon, which will push the player to its end and then will leave the player at the air, if the terrain does not interfere with the player's mobility on the pole. Once the player character uses the Thunder Claw in a Thunder Claw Pole, the swinging will be unstoppable if the terrain allows it and the player does not change weapons, and the player will not be kept swinging in the pole, but will be send off when the movement is finished.
- The 8-bit sprites for the Thunder Claw were designed by Zedicon, while the ones for the Thunder Claw Pole were designed by Schmidkalkan and WreckingPrograms.
- Thunder Claw is one of the few weapons that can pierce Spring Man's magnetic field, which is ironic considering it can induce it.
