|Ring Boomerang's concept art in Mega Man 4|
The weapon fires off a large rotating Chakram that will go a small distance, stop, then return to the user wherever they may be. The ring projectile pierces through enemies, certain shields and blocking Level Objects, allowing for multiple hits on a single enemy or through a row of enemies. It is not blocked by a Weapon Block with a weapon other than the Ring Boomerang. However, it does not work against shielded enemies.
The version featured in Mega Man Maker has the additional perk of being able to grab most pickups that the ring comes in contact with and bring them to the player, making it both a powerful weapon and a useful tool to grab items placed in tricky locations or behind basic walls. This ability comes from Mega Man IV where the Ring Boomerang was also featured with this ability included. Unlike the version in Mega Man IV, however, it cannot grab Tanks.
If a pickup is over an Anti-Eddie, the Ring Boomerang cannot catch it, but it can if the Anti-Eddie is defeated and the pickup is not a Tank.
- Initially the description for Ring Boomerang said, "Ring that always comes back, getting items for you! Not suitable for marriage", however, the "getting items for you" part was removed in later updates for unknown reasons.
- If the user grabs an Item with Ring Boomerang and switches to another weapon as it is coming back, the item will be stuck in place and cannot be picked up or grabbed again.
