Mega Man using Flash Bomb in Mega Man 8 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
Flash Bomb is Grenade Man's signature weapon from Mega Man 8, and is one of the weapons featured in Mega Man Maker since its 1.5.0 version.
It is a bomb that explodes upon contact with any enemy or with a tile. Upon contact with an enemy or solid surface, a series of explosions occur that can cause multiple damage to enemies that are within its range. It will explode even if would not deal damage due to the target being shielded or in an invulnerable state. A single Flash Bomb lingers for 1.5 seconds, and can deal 15 HP worth of damage through its duration. Multiple explosions cannot be stacked to deal more damage, however.
Only two bombs can be present at the same time, and this extends to their explosions. Therefore, if the player had targeted two things in a same screen, the player has to wait for the two groups of explosions to finish before being able to fire the weapon again. With a full bar, this weapon can be used 25 times.
Similarly to Crash Bomber, it can deal multiple hits to bosses not immune to it. It will not deal damage during their invincibility frames, but if the boss does not move too much, the explosions can continue to deal damage.
Like in Mega Man 8, Flash Bomb explosions can help the player see in darkness by interacting with MegaMan Maker's Darkness Object from Mega Man & Bass.

Trivia
- When used by Mega Man in Mega Man 8, the explosions were yellow, but in Mega Man Maker both Grenade Man and the player's versions are cyan.
