|Artwork of a Wanaan from Mega Man 3|
It hides out in stationary vents that are 2x1 tiles long and act like solid terrain. If the player character stands on a Wanaan vent on most conditions, it will leap out with a snap to get him with its jaws. This happens even if the player character is stood on its very left or right edge of the vent, although the player will be just far enough away from the center of the vent to not take collision damage. The Wanaan is immune to most weapons from the player character, and while it can be destroyed by Hyper Bomb, Top Spin, Charge Kick, Gravity Hold, and contact damage with Shine's barrier, another Wanaan will still spawn and attack the player if the vent is stepped on again. Otherwise, the vents are harmless.
With the Flash Stopper, the Wanaan will not bite the player as long as the player is not over one vent when the effect stops.
The vents can be pale green or vibrant green, but will act the same.
Initially, Wanaan only came in a single color variant, however a second color variant was added in version 1.5.0.
- Strangely, Wanaan can be be defeated by Top Spin in Mega Man Maker, when it couldn't be defeated by it in their source game Mega Man 3.
- Dive Missile and Magnet Missile will attempt to home in on Wanaan when it briefly pops out of its vent, and will stop homing on it when it drops back into the vent. This may be unintentional as Wanaan can't be destroyed or damaged by either of these weapons.
- As further evidence that this may be an oversight, Magnet Missile can't target and home in on Wanaan at all in Mega Man 3.
