|Bouncy Ball and its different variants in-game|
In Mega Man Maker
Bouncy Ball works as a multidirectional Spring, as it can bounce the player character if they jump over it while it also can bounce them if they jump on it from other directions. The bounce effect is greater if the player holds down the jump button in the same way it happens when the player character is bouncing over a Spring. If the player character touches it from the sides, the Bouncy Ball sends them in the opposite direction and can make the player ascend or descend depending on whether the player character was ascending or falling respectively. It can also bounce other assets such as Push Blocks.
If the player bounces sideways off of a ball and uses a weapon or utility such as Jet Adaptor or Top Spin, they will keep the momentum built upon contact with the ball. Star Crash can work to send the player character further.
It also comes with skins that bounce entities higher than the main ones indicated by white stripes.
A Bouncy Ball occupies one tile and its various colors can be customized.
As seen in the original game it has the colors red, orange and yellow. The striped versions that bounce higher appear as alternate skins with the colors yellow and pink.
- Bouncy Balls were described as "multi-directional springs" in their announcement reveal.
- Luigi stated that WreckingPrograms made the sprites for Bouncy Ball as a placeholder, but WreckingPrograms clarified that his sprites were not meant to be temporary.
