The title screen is the screen that appears after the copyright and splash screens but before the main menu in Mega Man Maker.

History

The visual and auditory design of the title screen has received multiple changes throughout the game's history. In its early versions, it looked like a series of internal circuits, but after 1.1.0, it was changed to a blue sky with clouds and blocks floating to adjust to the new title and to renew the visuals.

Visual variants

  • Since version 1.1.0, there is a title screen with an alternate palette that can be seen by typing "duwang" during the splash screen opening credits. If input correctly, the 1-up sound will play and the title screen will change to a color edit of the title screen with a brown background and purple and green tiles.
  • Since version 1.2.4, there is also a special background for Christmas used in-game during the Christmas season that features a Christmas tree with presents.
  • 1.9.0 added three additional title screen graphics and new music for the title screen, menu, and online menu that change depending on the system clock.
Time of day Color Start time End time Changes
Afternoon Blue 12 PM 6 PM Original
Evening Orange 6 PM 12 AM Lens flare is less severe, green blocks now dark purple, purple blocks now green
Night Black 12 AM 6 AM Moon instead of sun, clouds are black, green blocks now dark blue, gray spikes and purple blocks now orange
Morning Tangerine 6 AM 12 PM Orange and purple blocks more saturated

Modifications made to the game also have the potential can also change the visual and auditory design of the title screen.

Easter egg music

Typing certain phrases during the splash screen opening credits when opening the game will replace the title screen music with Easter egg music from other video games. When successfully input, the sound effect when collecting a Life pickup plays.

  • Since 1.7.4, inputting "30XX" during the splash screen opening credits will replace the title screen, main menu, and online menu music with the menu music from 30XX. This was also the way to unlock the 30XX menu music for use in levels, however since 1.8.1 the music is unlocked by default.
  • Inputting "SANS" during the splash screen opening credits replaces the title screen music with Megalovania and unlocks it as a boss theme. Prior to 1.10.0, it could only play if the ID of a boss theme was text edited to be 69.
