Most forms of Met rely on staying protected from all non-piercing weapons, occasionally making themselves vulnerable to attack, but suffer from low damage output and a lack of health. Met is the first version of the enemy. It appeared first in Mega Man 1 and returned for Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge, Mega Man: The Wily Wars, and Mega Man Powered Up.
This version of the enemy is stationary, since it has no legs. If the player character approaches to it by four tiles long or less, Met will expose its face and shoot three projectiles; one that goes straight and two that go diagonal in opposing directions. Unlike most projectiles, Met's bullets deal more damage than contact damage.

Neo Met is a variant of the Met that can walk after shooting. It was introduced in Mega Man 2.
It shoots in the same way as the Met, but with more modernized bullets and it walks after shooting before hiding in its helmet again.
