Metal Blade is Metal Man's signature weapon, originating from Mega Man 2 and reappearing in Mega Man II and Mega Man: The Wily Wars. It is featured in Mega Man Maker as of version 1.0.0.
It lets the user throw up to three saw blades at once in eight possible directions. Like most throwing weapons, the user is briefly rooted in place when firing on the ground. These blades can pass through solid terrain as well as enemies it manages to destroy. Fly Boy and Scworm are instantly defeated by this weapon, while Hot Dog will take twice as much damage from it. Sniper Armors are immune to Metal Blade entirely. When used against Metal Man, it will defeat him instantly if it's a primary weakness, two-shot him if it's a secondary weakness, or deal 1 unit of damage if no weaknesses are set.
Trivia
- Metal Blade's description alludes to how it was the most powerful weapon in Mega Man 2, due to its low energy cost, multi-directional aiming, and the fact that most enemies and bosses in that game had a weakness to it.
- Despite the description, Metal Blade is actually weaker in Mega Man Maker, since less enemies have an innate weakness to it.
- It being able to instakill or two-shot Metal Man is a direct reference to how the weapon functioned in Mega Man 2.
