I have found the new hardest thing to write walkthroughs for: Complete nothing levels where everything is so similar that I either repeat myself over and over or skip large portions.

Crystal Clear Ascent is a level created by Noivs.

This level won first place in the traditional category of the 2017 Mega Man Maker Level Creation Contest. However, it was the only winner of the contest not to be added as an example level.

Walkthrough

The level begins with a short introduction for Cossack Platforms in case the player is unaware of their functionality. Afterwards, after a single Met and brief platforming, is a demonstration of how Cossack Platforms can carry enemies upwards and off-screen to clear the way, shown with a Crystal Joe. After a brief segment over a pit, there is a brief room with several Octopus Batteries.

After going through a Teleporter, there is a brief detour for a Large Health pickup. Otherwise, the player will go right over a floor of spikes, followed by going between more spikes to climb down a ladder. There is then an introduction to Shield Attackers, followed by the first checkpoint.

After a few more rooms testing the combination of previous assets, Elec Beams are introduced, alongside Spines. This continues until the second checkpoint. Following it, there is a boss fight against a Hot Dog on a high ledge with a Cossack Platform to reach it. After using a platform to clear the way and dealing with a Shield Attacker jumpscare, there are more enemy challenges to deal with. Upon reaching the room with the two Elec Beams, Crystal Joe, and Shield Attacker, stick to the far right of the room to avoid forced damage. Afterwards is a final room filled with platforming, enemies, and backgrounds that look like backgrounds, so be careful. On the top route is an E-Tank. The level ends with a fight against Knight Man.

Trivia

  • The other winners of the contest were Escape from the Space Station Puzzle in the challenge category and Automata Fortress in the non-traditional category.
  • This level was excluded from being an example level due to the developers not considering it to be of high enough quality.
  • In the bottom right corner of the level map is an inaccessible room made up of two screens. It comprises a one-way Teleporter leading out of the room, two Party Balls, and a Met. The term "GOKU 2" is also spelled out using Ring Tiles, likely a reference to the game Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku II.
