DWN-013 Crash Man (or Clash Man depending on localisation) is one of the 8 Robot Masters from Mega Man 2 that is featured in Mega Man Maker since the 1.0.0 update. Crash Man is armed with his signature weapon, the Crash Bomber which is a surface adhering bomb that will blow up after a short time.

Built by Dr. Wily to beat Mega Man, Crash Man challenged him in his base, but like other robots he was beat. His data combat is later reused by Doc Robot in Mega Man 3. He later comes back with four other MM2 robots in Mega Man II, trying to win against Mega Man, but once again being beaten by him.

Behavior

Crash Man walks left and right across terrain and turns around when he is about one tile away from a wall or reaches the edge of terrain.

Crash Man's AI reacts to shoot button inputs, similar to Metal Man, Skull Man, and Toad Man. Pressing the shoot button when Crash Man is on the ground, will cause Crash Man to jump up into the air and then launch a single Crash Bomber at where the player currently is. Once the bomb hits a surface, it will stick to it and explode after a few seconds. Both the Crash Bomber itself, and its explosion can hurt the player. Crash Man will also launch a Crash Bomber at the player, if the player doesn't press the shoot button for an extended period of time.

Crash Man jumps if he is on the ground whenever the player presses the shoot button, Crash Man can be tricked into jumping into the player's on coming attacks, or to jump out of the way for the player to travel safely underneath him.

As Crash Man's Crash Bomber sticks to walls, ceilings, or certain Level Objects, in some non-traditional arenas, the player can use these to hide behind or underneath to protect themselves.

Glitches

  • Crash Man can only have one of his Crash Bombers active at a time. If he is triggered to fire again while one has yet to explode or despawn, he will preform the animation but not fire anything. This can cause problems in certain levels, as if Crash Man ends up firing upward into another screen the bomb will never collide with anything and as a result he will be unable to fire another for the rest of the fight.
  • Crash Man can easily clip into walls when he is in a tight or compact space, making him somewhat problematic for levels in that design.

Trivia

  • Crash Man, like Metal Man, Skull Man and Toad Man, will counterattack the player if they press the shoot button, even if they have no ammo for their current weapon, or are equipped with Nothing.
