WreckingPrograms is the creator of Mega Man Maker and the former leader and main programmer of the project. While his major role was programming, he has also been involved in the design and sprites and he wrote some of the flavor text. He was initially developing the project alone, but decided to recruit people later on due to the game's scope.
DWN-009 Metal Man is one of the 8 Robot Masters from Mega Man 2 that is featured in Mega Man Maker since the 1.0.0 update. Metal Man is equipped with his signature weapon, Metal Blade that is able to kill most things without problems.

His earlier experiences with programming come from Super Mario fangames. He created the Mega Engine, a game engine allowing for assorted Mega Man games and experiments. After creating the Mega Engine, he created tutorials for programming a Mega Man game and a few for Sonic the Hedgehog games. He was a programmer for Make a Good Mega Man Level 2 after having participated in the first Make a Good Mega Man Level contest.
Built by Dr. Wily to exact his revenge on Mega Man, he challenges him in his lair full of conveyor belts, but is ultimately beaten. His combat data is later reused by Doc Robot during events of Mega Man 3. He later comes back to exact his revenge on Mega Man with three other MM2 robots during Mega Man II events, but is once again beaten.

His motivation to create Mega Man Maker was "to create a tool to allow people with no development experience to create their own Mega Man levels."
Behavior
Metal Man's AI reacts to shoot button inputs, similar to Crash Man, Skull Man, and Toad Man. Pressing the shoot button while Metal Man is on the ground will trigger him to jump straight up and throw his blades in one of three patterns:

Before announcing Mega Man Maker, WreckingPrograms made videos showcasing two weapons from outside Mega Man canon, Shine and Nado, based on Fox McCloud's and Meta Knight's attacks respectively from the Super Smash Bros. series. WreckingPrograms wrote the tutorial and was aided by Gaem with sprites. He also designed the user interface as of 1.0.0, but it was replaced during 1.1.0.
*Grounded Shoot Reaction A: Small jump, throw one Metal Blade towards the player.
*Grounded Shoot Reaction B: Medium jump, throw two Metal Blades towards the player.
*Grounded Shoot Reaction C: Large jump, throw three Metal Blades towards the player.
If the player moves too close to Metal Man, he will attempt to jump to the opposite side of the screen, while throwing one Metal Blade at the player.

Despite his arm injury during part of 1.5.0's development, WreckingPrograms assisted Luigi with the overhaul to allow multiple bosses within a level. During 1.6.0, WreckingPrograms implemented the Build Online function and resumed from what numbers did. WreckingPrograms had also nabbed a job to be the tools programmer for 30XX around this time.
Standing still and not shooting for a long period of time will cause Metal Man to do a small jump and throw one Metal Blade towards the player.

On December 2, 2020 Wrecking announced that he would step down as the project leader of Mega Man Maker after the release of 1.7.0, noting that he wanted to move onto other projects and to focus on 30XX and Alex's game V00. He said that his original vision for the game of "creating an intuitive level editor featuring content from all main-line Mega Man titles" is complete as of version 1.6, with version 1.7 serving "as a good way of tying up loose ends". Luigi and Goldstorm would take the role of project leader after the release of version 1.7.0, while WreckingPrograms would be a consultant for the game. The trailer for 1.7.0 was posted on his YouTube channel, but after the update's release, future update videos related to the game were posted on a dedicated Mega Man Maker YouTube channel.
Metal Man is unaffected by Conveyor Belts and Moving Cogs, instead jogging in place on them, just as he did in Mega Man 2. Until 1.5.5.1, his ability to change the directions of Conveyor Belts was absent, but in 1.6.0 he has a button to enable or disable his ability to do so. When he uses his skill to switch Conveyor Belts, a sound plays and all kinds of transporting platforms switch direction.

During the minor updates, WreckingPrograms prepared to give ownership of the community and team servers and the forums to Luigi. After 1.7.5's release, WreckingPrograms deemed the update to not have major issues and decided to pass the project leader roles to Luigi and Goldstorm.
In Mega Man Maker selecting Metal Blade as Metal Man's primary weakness makes him to be defeated in one hit of Metal Blade, similar to normal mode. If Metal Blade is the secondary weakness, Metal Blade defeats him in two hits, similar to difficult mode. If the player character reflects one of Metal Man's own Metal Blade projectiles back at him through reflecting weapons or Proto Shield, the blade will defeat him in one hit regardless of what his weaknesses are set to. Metal Man's reaction to the Metal Blade is a reference to Mega Man 2, where Metal Man's own primary weakness was Metal Blade and could kill him in 1 hit if playing on normal mode or 2 in hard mode.

Contributions
Glitches
*Metal Man, if standing on any Level Object (even when it is not the Conveyor Belt), will still do his jogging animation.
*For some strange reason, Metal Man seems to be on a different sprite layer than all other bosses in Mega Man Maker, which causes his sprite to appear in front of the sprites of some assets when they overlap, that otherwise does not occur with any other boss. This potential oversight is purely visual in nature and has no impact on gameplay.

Trivia
{| class="wikitable plainrowheaders sortable"
*Metal Man is the only boss that can completely resist Conveyor Belts.
! scope="col" | Icon
*Metal Man, Bomb Man, Crystal Man, Spring Man, and Blast Man are the only Mega Man Maker bosses that can jump backwards (ignoring the fact that bosses turn around if the player goes past them).

WreckingPrograms (Porting) Luigi (Conveyor belt switch function)

DWN-009 Metal Man is one of the 8 Robot Masters from Mega Man 2 that is featured in Mega Man Maker since the 1.0.0 update. Metal Man is equipped with his signature weapon, Metal Blade that is able to kill most things without problems.

Behavior

Metal Man's AI reacts to shoot button inputs, similar to Crash Man, Skull Man, and Toad Man. Pressing the shoot button while Metal Man is on the ground will trigger him to jump straight up and throw his blades in one of three patterns:

 • Grounded Shoot Reaction A: Small jump, throw one Metal Blade towards the player.
 • Grounded Shoot Reaction B: Medium jump, throw two Metal Blades towards the player.
 • Grounded Shoot Reaction C: Large jump, throw three Metal Blades towards the player.

If the player moves too close to Metal Man, he will attempt to jump to the opposite side of the screen, while throwing one Metal Blade at the player.

Standing still and not shooting for a long period of time will cause Metal Man to do a small jump and throw one Metal Blade towards the player.

Glitches

 • Metal Man, if standing on any Level Object (even when it is not the Conveyor Belt), will still do his jogging animation.
 • For some strange reason, Metal Man seems to be on a different sprite layer than all other bosses in Mega Man Maker, which causes his sprite to appear in front of the sprites of some assets when they overlap, that otherwise does not occur with any other boss. This potential oversight is purely visual in nature and has no impact on gameplay.

Trivia

 • Metal Man is the only boss that can completely resist Conveyor Belts.
 • Metal Man, Bomb Man, Crystal Man, Spring Man, and Blast Man are the only Mega Man Maker bosses that can jump backwards (ignoring the fact that bosses turn around if the player goes past them).
