Other
- Sega Saturn release have few changes compared to original, mostly that Cut Man and Wood Man are hidden bosses (Cut Man is hidden in Duo Stage, while Wood Man in Search Man Stage), and Tengu Man have different stage theme.
- It is so far only mainstream Mega Man game that FMV cutscenes
- It is second Mega Man game where Mega Man can swim (First was Mega Man 3 for DOS)
- It is so far only Mega Man game where there are no Yoku Blocks in the game at all.
- Mega Man 8 is only game after MM3 where there are no Rush Coil or Rush Jet avaible ( There are homever Rush Jet sections in Tengu Man and Wily Stage 2 where we are piloting Rush Jet )
