1.8.0 is an upcoming major update focused on adding new content from Mega Man & Bass and content from Mega Man 8 that returned in this game, as well as content from the Game Boy installments and Fortress Bosses. It also brings performance upgrades in loading, creating, saving and playing levels to reduce lag.

In October of 2022, the team gathered questions for a panel stream for the updates from October 9 to October 22. The stream took place on October 29, while the previous days had showcases of assets that are not related to Mega Man & Bass.
1.8 is set to launch roughly 1-2 weeks after the Q&A livestream, being pushed from a previous date of Fall 2022 announced in the fifth anniversary announcement due to critical bugs.
