An Elec Beam in Mega Man 1 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
Elec Beam, also called Elec Block (雷放電ブロック "Lightning Discharge Block" in Japan) in Mega Man Powered Up's Construction mode and Thunder Block (サンダーブロック) in Rockman Complete Works, is a level object originating from Mega Man 1, found in Elec Man's stage. It is featured in Mega Man Maker as of version 1.0.0.
Level Builder
An Elec Beam can be customized to project its beam either left or right and on a different cycle (1-4).
Behavior
Elec Beam is an obstacle that requires timing and functions similarly to Fire Beam. It is timed based on four cycles, and stays active for one cycle after activating (for a total of 2 cycles spent active, and 2 cycles spent inactive). When active, Elec Beam projects a 4-tile long beam of electricity, dealing 4 points of damage when touched by the player. The electricity beam stays in place and plays a 2 frame animation until two cycles have passed and the beam disappears. Elec Beam never despawns and retains its cycle even when offscreen.
Elec Beam is not affected by obstructing tiles, enemies or any weapons (except time weapons and Electric Shock). Electric Shock deletes Elec Beam's electricity beams, and deleted electricity beams will respawn immediately, but they will not respawn during an inactive cycle and will instead wait for their next active cycle, meaning deleting an Elec Beam's electricity charged beam, does not affect its timing. Elec Beam when active plays the same sound effect as when the player uses Magnet Beam. Elec Beam does not reflect projectiles. It does not cause damage to enemies, Robot Masters or other bosses. However, when a projected electric beam touches Spring Man or Magnetic Coil, a magnetic effect is generated.
