Trivia

  • For the most part, level mugshots for bosses are the same as their profile icons. However, as of version 1.8.5.2, there are two exceptions:
    • Yamato Man, whose level mugshot uses a lighter color palette
    • Dark Man 4, whose profile icon was added in 1.8.1 with revisions made
  • Prior to version 1.3.4, Mega Man's level mugshot was utilized when a level contained a Party Ball or an Energy Element.
  • Like the other bosses, Gemini Man has a mugshot still present in the game. It has a frame number of 8, due to Party Ball/Energy Element's mugshot being frame number 0. Gemini Man himself has a boss ID of 9.
  • Likely in order to properly show mugshot sprites, various extra sprites were added for v1.8.0, including 2 duplicates of the Kamegoro Maker mugshot (for the whirlpool generators), 2 duplicates of the Boobeam Trap mugshot (for the boobeam enemies themselves, as the controller handles the mugshot), and a transparent sprite with the text "Do Not Delete!" on it, likely for Boobeam Rails.
