Shell'n is an enemy who resembles an oyster and whose first appearance was in Mega Man 8 Aqua Man's stage and appears again in Pirate Man's stage in Mega Man and Bass. Shell'n was added to Mega Man Maker in version 1.5.0.
Behavior
Once spawned in, Shell'n will hide in its defensive shell for a brief period then open its shell and fire a water bubble projectile at the player that travels in an arc pattern. When attacking, Shell'n's vulnerable interior is open to attacks from the player. After a brief moment of staying open after firing, Shell'n will close its shell again to protect itself before repeating its attack pattern. Shell'n's projectiles can be destroyed by the player's weapons.
Interactivity
Shell'n's water based projectiles will behave differently if under Water tiles. If fired underwater, three evenly spaced water bubble projectiles will emerge from the single fired water bubble, travelling horizontally a short distance before then flowing straight up.
Shell'n's water based projectiles have the ability to interact with Mega Man 11's Chemical Solution Object, reducing acidity by one level for each projectile that comes in contact with Chemical Solution.
The bubbles released from Shell'n also deactivate acidic Burst Water and extinguish Oil Fire.
Fixed bugs
- Prior version 1.7.0, the projectiles from Shell'n did not put out fire from Oil.
- Prior version 1.8.3, Shell'n weakness to Electric Shock was missing.
- Prior version 1.8.4, Shell'n could be pushed by Wave Burner underwater.
- Prior to version 1.10.1.4, Shell'n projectiles were not able to remove Napalm Fire.
Trivia
- New sound effects for Shell'n firing projectiles and opening and closing its shell were added in version 1.5.4.
