Subeil (also known as Search Mine) is a small machine. Although its original creator and the machine's original function are unknown, Dr. Wily stole them and repurposed them for combat. They are enemies that originate from Mega Man 5 from Crystal Man's stage, Napalm Man's stage and Stone Man's stage, later re-appearing in Dark Man Stages 1 and 3.

Behavior

When Subeil is spawned, it will be in its "passive state", and will do nothing but flash its light.

When the player get within 5 tiles or closer to a Subeil on the x-axis, while the player and Subeil are also on the same coordinate on the y-axis, the Subeil will enter an "aggressive state".

While in this "aggressive state", Subeil will collapse its body close to the ground, and slide in the direction of the player. It will reverse its direction of travel if it happens to collide with a wall, and it will fall straight downwards if it slides off a platform, before moving again in the same direction it was moving before it fell, upon landing on solid ground again.

Level Builder

Subeil can be set to one of three color schemes: light green and white, orange and white, or green and white.

  • The light green color scheme resembles their appearance in Crystal Man's stage and Stone Man's stage.
  • The orange color scheme resembles their appearance in Napalm Man's stage and Dark Man Stage 3.
  • The green color scheme resembles their appearance in Dark Man Stage 1.
