Impact Rail is a level object from Impact Man's stage in Mega Man 11. It is featured in Mega Man Maker since version 1.10.0.
Behavior
Similar to Crash Lifts from Mega Man 2, Impact Rails are gray rails on which yellow platforms can travel on. The player can also jump through the bottom of these platforms similar to Jumpthrough Platforms. The platforms can be created by or despawned when entering a gray 4x3 spawner level object, or appear on an Impact Rail when the screen with the platform is spawned in.
If a platform reaches the end of an Impact Rail that has an end connector, it will continue travelling in the opposite direction similar to a Crash Rail; otherwise, it will fall off the Impact Rail while affected by gravity but unaffected by solid objects. While falling, it will continue travelling on any Impact Rails it comes across.
The platforms have various speed settings as well as a bouncy platform variant on which the player can bounce on its top similar to Springs and Bouncy Balls. The player's jump height when not holding down the jump button while bouncing on a Impact Rail is three tiles high (instead of two tiles high for Springs and Bouncy Balls), while the jump height when holding down the jump button is six tiles high (similar to that on an unstriped Bouncy Ball).
Trivia
- As 1.10.0 is focusing on adding assets as per the choice of members of the development team, Impact Rail was chosen by GamerFromTheWeb to be added for the update.
