Cracking Tiles is a level object added to Mega Man Maker in version 1.10.0 that originates from the first stage of Mr. X's Castle in Mega Man 6.

Level Builder

Although Cracking Tiles can be placed anywhere in the Level Builder, if not placed on a tile Cracking Tiles will not appear during gameplay. The appearance of Cracking Tiles can be configured in one of two ways: by using a 2×4 autotiling pattern, which adjusts automatically based on the Cracking Tile's position on the level map, or by manually selecting one of eight predefined variants.

Behavior

Cracking Tiles can be placed on tilesets to give them a cracked appearance: these tiles can then be destroyed by certain destructive assets.

Interactions

The following assets can destroy tiles with Cracking Tiles placed over them:

• VAN Pookin's death behavior
• The Punch Block Level Object
• The enemy Molier
• The Mega Man Killer Punk when in Saw Blade form, but not during his intro. His Plushie also has this ability.
• Bounce Man's arm punch attack
• Bomb Man Plushie's explosion
• The following Weapons can break a Cracked Block.
  • Power Adaptor's charged punch
  • Astro Crush's explosive meteor barrage
  • Pile Driver's explosion
  • Spread Drill's big drill

Trivia

• Aside from VAN Pookin's behavior upon being defeated that does not destroy Cracked Blocks, the above assets will break both Cracked Blocks and tiles with Cracking Tiles placed over them.
• As of version 1.10.1.5, the Punk plushie is the only asset that will break parts of connected Cracking Tiles instead of an entire connected section at a time.
