Life is a type of pickup in Mega Man Maker introduced in version 1.0.0.

When touched, the Life pickup refills the player character's health completely. Unlike the official games, a Life never appears as a dropped item from killing an enemy. While there has been some variety in the appearance of Lives in the official games, a Life in Mega Man Maker takes the appearance of a Life in the Mega Man games from the Nintendo Entertainment System. Depending on the character chosen, the Life pickup will change visually to show a sprite of the current character's head.

When playing the Wily Challenge mode, the Life pickup also gives the player character an extra life as there are limited lives in this mode. However, the player can only collect up to three extra lives per level and only collect lives up to the initial amount set by the player for the Wily Challenge. (Prior to version 1.7.0 adding a slider to select the amount of lives, this was the default number of lives of the chosen difficulty.) The Lives cannot be recollected to gather a new life if a level is replayed. When the Wily Challenge mode was implemented in 1.4.0, Life pickups gathered during the Wily Challenge did not heal the player, but 1.5.0 changed them so that they have both functions.

Similarly to Weapon Energy and Health pickups, a Life can be dropped from a ?-Tank, Target, or Level Target. An Anti-Eddie may also carry a Life.

Trivia

• In the main series, the Life pickup is an item found throughout levels either in a hard-to-reach spot or as a random enemy drop. Picking one up adds to the player's life counter up to a maximum of nine extra attempts.
