Punch Block punching in Mega Man 7 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
Punch Block is a level object first appearing in Mega Man 7 in Spring Man's stage and was added to Mega Man Maker in version 1.4.0.
In the Level Builder, a Punch Block can be set to point up, down, left or right as well as the timing of the punch (from 1 to 9).
The Punch Block is a red and gray block with two arrow lights on the side. After a short period of time, the arrow lights will flicker and the block will launch out a spring-loaded fist in the direction the arrows on the side of the block are facing. If a player is struck by the fist they will receive damage.
If a player jumps on top of a Punch Block when it is not about to throw a punch or a punch has already been thrown, it will change its direction of attack in increments of 90 degrees with each time the player jumps upon the block's surface. Each rotation of a Punch Block slightly delays the timing of the next punch. Jumping when on the right-side of a Punch Block rotates it clockwise while jumping on the left-side rotates the Punch Block counterclockwise. If the player jumps from the center of the Punch Block, the block will rotate 90 degrees either clockwise or counterclockwise in relation to the player's facing direction, with facing right causing a clockwise rotation, and facing left causing a counterclockwise rotation.
When a Punch Block is preparing to punch upwards, the player can avoid damage from the spring-loaded fist by standing near the far left or right corner of the block.
Interactivity
- Punch Blocks can destroy Cracked Blocks and move Push Blocks if the Punch Block fist strikes them.
- If the player uses Magic Card on a Punch Block, it has the ability to initiate the 90 degree turns of a Punch Block without requiring the player to touch the block.
- A Magic Card traveling to the right rotates a Punch Block clockwise while a Magic Card traveling to the left rotates the Punch Bunch counterclockwise.
