Anti Grav Section is a Level Object added to Mega Man Maker in version 1.9.0 that premiered in Mega Man 9 Wily Fortress Stage 3.

Anti Grav Section is a one tile Object in the Editor, that once added to a screen, removes gravity for the player causing them to gradually lift upwards. Any screen affected by Anti Grav Section is signaled to the player by an icon in the upper left of the screen that is a green flashing arrow pointing up. The player cannot move using directional controls or jumping, and can only steer their ascent by firing their buster. If they fire their buster right the player will be pushed left, and if they fire their buster left they will be pushed right. Mega Man and Proto Man's movement are identical with their repective busters behaving similarly. Bass using his Bass Buster allows for faster movement due to its rapid fire. Roll's Roll Swing broom attack is the only default player character attack that cannot generate movement within the Anti Grav Section effect, resulting in her spinning in place whenever using her broom.

Using certain custom Weapons within Anti Grav Section can affect player momentum to varying degrees depending on the Weapon being used. For examples Flame Sword allows for attacking while adding zero momentum (similar to Roll Swing), Pile Driver allows for dashing in the direction the player is facing, while Perfect Freeze will throw the player dramatically in the opposite direction that it is fired.

Interactivity

  • Oil Slider allows the player to change horizontal direction once if riding upon it, and slow their speed if pushing directional controls in the opposite direction.
  • Time Stopper, Flash Stopper and Centaur Flash can turn off the effects of the Anti Grav Section whenever active.
