The Tsuranattori is a large, pinkish bird enemy originating from Mega Man 7. It tends to rocket through the air in flocks with its own kin, attacking in a group. It first appeared in the stages of Cloud Man and Slash Man, although it also made an appearance in the Wily Castle.

The Tsuranattori debuted in version 1.4.0 of Mega Man Maker.

Level Builder

The Tsuranattori is designated to the 6th layer, which means that it can be placed over most tiles and level objects. Its facing direction can also be manually adjusted.

Behavior

After spawning, the Tsuranattori will begin flying straight forwards at a steady pace, passing through any and all tiles. As soon as the player passes it on the vertical axis, the Tsuranattori will suddenly flip around and dive diagonally downwards, in the opposite direction as it was flying before, until it aligns itself with the player horizontally, which will prompt it to turn back to its original trajectory and continue flying forward. This movement pattern is akin to a zig-zag. Additional Tsuranattori can be placed behind another, forming a flock. If the leading member of the flock is spawned in, the others will also spawn, regardless as to whether or not they're on-screen. Once all of the Tsuranattori in a flock have finished their diagonal movement, the entire group will charge forwards at a much faster speed. Destroying one of the Tsuranattori in a flock will also throw the group into disarray, panicking and triggering a charge.

Trivia

  • Tsuranattori's sprites used in Mega Man Maker were adapted from the game Rockman Battle & Fighters for the Neo Geo Pocket Color. Schmidkalkan made slight adjustments to the sprite to better conform to Mega Man Maker's style.
  • A variant of the Tsuranattori known as the Muragattori appears in both Mega Man 8 and Mega Man & Bass, with a rounder design and a green color scheme. As of version 1.9.4.3, the Muragattori has yet to be added to Mega Man Maker.
