Capsules are a type of pickup in Mega Man Maker which can change the playable character or add or remove a weapon in their arsenal.
Types of Capsules
Weapon Capsule

| A Weapon Capsule set to Rolling Cutter | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Weapon Capsules are Mega Man Maker exclusive pickups added in version 1.2.0. They hold a weapon, and when a player touches the capsule, it gives them said weapon with full ammunition and forcibly switches them to that weapon.
When the user first places it in the Level Builder, its placeholder weapon is Nothing. By default, this will fully refill weapon energy to the player's currently equipped weapon; if the primary weapon is equipped upon collecting a Weapon Capsule set to Nothing, the weapon energy of the last weapon in the player's arsenal is fully refilled instead.
Level creators have to add the weapon they want to use to the weapons menu before putting it in a Weapon Capsule: this will add a yellow lock icon to the right of the weapon in the weapons menu. Weapons in Weapon Capsules cannot be used before they are collected. If the player already has a specific weapon and gets a Weapon Capsule of said weapon, its ammo will be fully refilled. A player will lose their weapon if they die before getting to a checkpoint.
Weapon Remover

| ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Weapon Removers are variants of Weapon Capsules that were added in version 1.4.0 of Mega Man Maker. Unlike Weapon Capsules which give the player weapons they do not already have, these capsules remove a weapon from their arsenal so the player can no longer use it.
Similarly to the Weapon Capsules, the player needs to define the selectable weapons before setting a Weapon Remover to lock a weapon. If not set to any weapon, they will remove all weapons from the player's arsenal.
Character Capsule
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| A Character Capsule containing Mega Man | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Character Capsules are Mega Man Maker exclusive pickups introduced in version 1.3.0. They hold a playable character, and when a player touches the capsule, it instantly switches them to that character. When first placed in a level, its placeholder character is set to Mega Man.
Character Capsules can be set to any of the playable characters (Mega Man, Proto Man, Bass and Roll) which can be set through options. Characters in Character Capsules cannot be used unless collected first. If a player dies before reaching a checkpoint, they will respawn with their previously active character — not the one they switched to. Additionally, Character Capsules will always reappear after death.
If the player is already using the same character the capsule is set to, nothing will change upon collecting it.
Trivia
- The description of the Weapon Capsule mentions "Waited for 62 updates." This is a reference to the Mega Man Maker Discord server where then moderator MrKyurem had kept count of how many times the Weapon Capsule had been requested until its addition.
- Originally, dying and collecting the Weapon Capsule for a weapon would result in the weapon having the amount of weapon energy it did last time it was used. This was changed in 1.2.3.
- When playing a level, a Weapon Remover and Weapon Capsule both set to Nothing are identical in appearance but function differently.
- Weapon Capsules and Weapon Removers will not respawn if the player touches them unless the player touches from a checkpoint afterwards. Character Capsules however always respawn after the player dies.
