The Sola 0 is a large mechanical flower and enemy, originating from Mega Man 10 - specifically from Solar Man's stage, as well as Ballade's and the Wily Castle. It is designed to artificially photosynthesize and absorb solar energy in order to fire a deadly laser at trespassers.

Sola 0 debuted in version 1.6.0 of Mega Man Maker.

Level Builder

The Sola 0 is designated to the 5th layer, along with tiles and most level objects. It cannot be customized, as it has no additional options which can be adjusted.

Behavior

Initially after spawning, the Sola 0 will automatically turn towards the direction of the player, whilst charging up energy, similarly to the Mega Buster's own charge shot. During this process, the Sola 0's petals will be closed, forming a bud, and it will be completely invulnerable to attack from most weapons. After a brief period of time, it will have charged up enough energy, blooming and firing a powerful beam of solar energy. The Sola 0's laser has fiery properties, and is thus capable of igniting Oil, TNT, or Blast Crates, or melting frozen objects such as Ice Barrier or Chill Blocks. After its laser has been fired, the Sola 0 will be exposed and vulnerable to damage. It will remain in this state for a brief moment before closing its petals and restarting its cycle by charging up another attack.

If the player jumps over or otherwise passes the Sola 0, it will not turn around to face them unless it has gone off-screen and has respawned.

Trivia

  • Sola 0's name could be considered a pun of sorts - playing off of the term "solar ray" as the number zero is written as "rei" (or more specifically, "零" or "ゼロ") in Japanese.
