The On/Off Switch is a level object originating from Mega Man Powered Up that is available since 1.7.0. It consists of a system that can enable and disable special solid blocks, ladders, spikes and certain other level objects by attacking the switch. They were revealed in Mega Man Maker's third anniversary trailer.
Behavior
On/Off Switches can be attacked by the player's weapons to switch the state of other On/Off gimmicks. Certain weapons such as those that affect the entire screen like Gravity Hold do not change the state of On/Off Switches.
The switch itself is a 1x1 tile object with the appearance of an orb that can be attacked to enable or disable special blocks. Any offensive weapon, including contact weapons (such as the Top Spin and riding the Oil Slider), a Fuse Laser Crawler/Turret's laser, or an On/Off Searchy detecting the player activating can make them switch colors. The switch is fully solid, stationary, and not affected by gravity.
On/Off Switch Timers cannot be attacked: they switch the state of On/Off gimmicks automatically on a timer set from 1-9 as long as they are present in the active room.
Interactions
Below are a list 1x1 level objects that turn solid when an On/Off switch is on.
A few other level objects have On/Off variants that possess a special behavior when an On/Off Switch is on:
- On/Off Magnetic Ceiling (introduced in version 1.7.5) attracts the player to it if the latter touches its bottom.
- On/Off Targets (introduced in version 1.8.0) can only be destroyed when active.
- On/Off Shupponpon Rails (introduced in version 1.9.0) can be ridden on by the player and certain level objects and enemies when active.
