The Spring is a level object that first appeared in Mega Man 6 - originating from Plant Man's stage in particular. It debuted in version 1.0.0 of Mega Man Maker.
Level Builder
The Spring takes up a 1x1 space in the Level Builder, and is designated to the 5th layer, sharing this placement with tiles, as well as most enemies and level objects. It has no special properties that can be adjusted.
Behavior
When the Player or most enemies affected by gravity land on top of a Spring, they will bounce into the air. Typically, Springs will only bounce players around two tiles into the air - but if the jump button is held down upon contact, the player can be flung a maximum distance of around seven tiles into the air instead. Enemies are also automatically bounced to this maximum height.
Interactions
- Other level objects, such as Push Blocks, can fall onto Springs. However, they do not bounce on them, unlike Bouncy Balls. The only exception to this being Plushies.
Trivia
- The Bouncy Ball level object features similar functionality to the Spring object, but features different customization and interaction with other level objects.
