The Walking Bomb is a walking grenade robot and enemy introduced in Mega Man 3. They made their debut appearance in Shadow Man's stage, as well as the third level of the Wily Castle. It is a modified variant of Killer Bomb, sacrificing its thrusters and aerial mobility for a more grounded approach, capable of navigating extreme terrain.

Walking Bomb debuted in version 1.2.0 of Mega Man Maker.

Level Builder

The Walking Bomb is designated the 5th layer of the editor, alongside tiles and most level objects. As such, it has collision with most terrain. The Walking Bomb has no customizable options or attributes.

Behavior

When a Walking Bomb is initially spawned, it will run horizontally forwards in the direction of the player. If it collides with a wall while running, it will jump a height of roughly two blocks high in an attempt to scale it and continue onwards. The Walking Bomb will make three attempts to jump over a wall, and if it fails all three times, it will start running in the opposite direction. The Walking Bomb will freely walk off of ledges or into pits without hesitation, unlike a similar enemy, the Skull Walker, whom is prompted to jump.

When a Walking Bomb is damaged and subsequently destroyed (or crushed by a Level Object), it will explode. The explosion will cause damage to the player if they collide with it, and the explosion can also detonate or destroy objects such as Blast Explosives, Explosive Crates, or Chill Blocks. The Walking Bomb can also be killed and prompted to explode by Lava and burning Hotplates.
