The Gabgyo is an enemy originating from Mega Man 6, from Yamato Man's, Plant Man's, and Centaur Man's stages. It resembles a large robotic piranha, as it was built to serve as a smaller, cheaper version of the Big Fish.
Gabgyo debuted in version 1.4.0 of Mega Man Maker.
Level Builder
The Gabgyo comes in two colors - a pinkish red (resembling its appearance in Plant Man's stage) and yellow (resembling their appearance in Centaur Man's stage, Yamato Man's stage and Wily Castle Stage 3). Its initial facing direction can also be set as left or right.
Behavior
The Gabgyo's behavior will change depending on if it is submerged in water.
Out of water
Outside of water, the Gabgyo will sit perfectly still, struggling in place, until the player approaches it 1.5 tiles or closer, which will trigger the Gabgyo to leap into the air. The Gabgyo will jump higher to reach the player depending on the player's vertical range. If solid terrain stops a Gabgyo from reaching its full jump height, it will fall back to the ground immediately upon colliding with the ceiling.
A Gabgyo outside of water will turn to face the player if the player gets behind them when spawned in.
Underwater
When submerged, the Gabgyo will swim back and forth six tiles in a pool of water, turning around after traveling a set distance or colliding with terrain.
Trivia
- Gabgyo's jumping behavior when outside water resembles its behavior in Plant Man's stage.
- Gabgyos are small and frail, the opposite of its predecessor model Big Fish which are large and resistant to most damage.
- A Gabgyo outside water on a Spring or a Bouncy Ball can jump mid-air if the player approaches it 1.5 tiles or closer.
