Tecks are types of enemies in the Mega Man games, debuting in Mega Man 6. Most varieties of Teck simply walk on the ceiling, with the only exception being the Wall Teck, which exclusively patrols walls. As of version 1.10.0, there are three types of Teck enemies currently available in Mega Man Maker: Teck, Icicle Teck, and Wall Teck.

Icicle Teck is an enemy originating from the game Mega Man 7. It was added in version 1.4.0 of Mega Man Maker.

Originating from Freeze Man's stage, the Icicle Teck is a robot that sticks upside down to ceilings and will intermittently slowly step horizontally left or right in its original set direction, turning in the opposite direction when it reaches a wall or the end of a ceiling. Once the player is 1.5 tiles or closer horizontally to an Icicle Teck, it will drop an icicle from the top of its head every four seconds in an attempt to hit the player.

When attached to the Icicle Teck, the icicle can also be destroyed if hit by a weapon and can be bounced by Proto Shield or a reflecting weapon. An Icicle Teck will also drop its icicle if it is destroyed before its icicle is destroyed. Unlike in Mega Man 7, the icicle does not break if it falls over the character.

Once the icicle has landed on a surface, it can safely be stood upon by the player but will despawn after three seconds. The Icicle Teck's icicle can be used in various ways including using it as a platform to cross spikes or temporarily freezing the Mega Man 11 Fire Wall. If an Icicle Teck's Icicle lands on a platform that moves or disappears, it will stay floating in the air and no longer obey gravity. This most commonly occurs when Yoku Blocks or Footholders are involved, or an Icicle Teck is quickly scrolled on and off screen in a tall vertical room causing a second Icicle to spawn and land on the not yet despawned first one.

Wall Teck is another variant of Teck that first appeared in Astro Man and Aqua Man's stages in Mega Man 8 and reappeared in Mega Man & Bass. It was added to Mega Man Maker in version 1.5.0.

Unlike other varieties of Teck, the Wall Teck cannot walk on ceilings and instead patrols walls in a set direction. When the Wall Teck's y-coordinate aligns with the player's y-coordinate, it will fire a projectile. The Wall Teck will even shoot if the player is behind them and their shots cannot harm the player. After shooting, the Wall Teck will resume its initial direction of movement; upon reaching a ceiling or a floor, it will turn around and move in the opposite direction.

If the Wall Teck has no walls to walk over, it will fall to the floor and be limited to shoot there, becoming a stationary enemy. Wall Teck can walk over solid level objects, including temporary ones like Count Bombs or Sheep Blocks.

In the Level Builder, the two arrows that appear when a Wall Teck is selected allow the designer to set its direction of movement (up or down) and the direction of the walls it climbs up (on its left or right).

Trivia

  • The sound effect used for an icicle dropping from an Icicle Teck is the same as the one used for a Kouker dropping.
  • Icicle Teck was one of the first Mega Man 7 enemies revealed in the anniversary teaser for the Mega Man Maker 1.4.0 update.
  • Icicle Teck is the only variant of the Teck that is equipped with an object that is not a variant of blaster.
